We, as FC Malaga, would like to formally confirm that we have transferred our Men's Regional League status to one of the local teams, Warriors Soccer Academy . After many years of competing in the Men's Regional League, we have faced challenges that have made it difficult for us to continue pushing forward.

We would like to extend our congratulations to Warriors Soccer Academy on their acquisition, and we wish them every success in their future endeavors.

Announcement of FC Malaga Status Sale

It is with a heavy heart that we write to inform you of a significant decision regarding the future of our beloved soccer club, FC malaga .

Due to ongoing financial challenges that have severely impacted our operations, coupled with the profound loss of our esteemed chairman, Mr Xolela Gida we find ourselves at a difficult crossroads. After thorough deliberation and consideration of all possible options, the board has made the tough decision to sell the club’s status.

This decision has not been taken lightly. Our priority has always been to uphold the integrity and legacy of FC Malaga. Unfortunately, the current financial constraints and the vacuum left by the passing of Mr Xolela Gida have made it impossible for us to continue our journey without significant changes.

We acknowledge and deeply appreciate the unwavering support, loyalty, and passion shown by our players, staff, supporters, and partners over the years. Your dedication has been the backbone of our success and the heartbeat of our community.

We are committed to ensuring a transparent and respectful transition. Potential buyers will be thoroughly vetted to ensure they share our values and commitment to the club's future success. We aim to find new ownership that will continue to foster and grow the legacy that we have collectively built.

Further details regarding the sale process and the interim management of the club will be communicated in due course. We understand the emotions this announcement may evoke and assure you that we are here to support our community through this transition.

As we all know that Tar X was well known all over Western Cape it was his family's wish to host memorial service in celebration of hi life , also give people the opportunity to be present in support of his family and the team . We are then hosting his Memorial Service next week Tuesday 7 May 2024 at 17:30 venue will be announced soon.

02 May 2024 FC Malaga official Statement.

FC Malaga would like to confirm the untimely passing away of our Chairman Mr. Xolela Gida also known as “X”💔💔.

X sadly passed away after Short illness 1st of May 2024 at Stellenbosch Hospital.
His sudden passing leaves a huge hole in the FC Malaga family.

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Xolela's family, friends, players and Cape Winelands football lovers in large. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this difficult time.

The details of Xolela's funeral are yet to be finalised, FC Malaga is in communication with his family in this regard.
