Dirtopia Trails at Muratie

Some trail time this weekend will do nicely, thank you…before the game Saturday or Sunday rather - what’s your preference?

A year ago, on 13 September, we lost Meurant Botha and JP van Zyl – two friends who shared many kilometres, laughs and adventures on these trails. ❤️

This year, we're marking the day in a way they would have appreciated: bikes, singletrack, friends, beer, boerie and a fire.

TRAILS ARE OPEN THIS SUNDAY 🌿🚵‍♀️🏃

We have the INTO THE VALLEY TRAIL RUN @ Dirtopia happening from the Trail Centre this Sunday, 23 August – but our regular Muratie trail network will remain OPEN as usual for mountain bikers and hikers.

The event runners will be heading away from the usual Muratie routes and into the Knorhoek Valley, using the Knorhoek loops before returning to the Trail Centre.

If you're not taking part in the event, you can still come and enjoy your usual Sunday morning on the Muratie trails at the normal day permit fee.

The Trail Centre will be open from early for permits, coffee, snacks and cold drinks plus a food truck for breakfast.

And if you feel like taking part, then enter by Friday on www.dirtpass.co.za or visit Dirtopia.co.za for info.

For R75, hikers can enjoy the marked circular of 3.5km or go further on the various trail options, as long as you know that you are sharing the trails with trail runners and mountain bikers.
