QUICK SUMMARY 🇬🇧 Vašek:
Today was a crucial day because we had our first big technical problem. I hit the front chainring on a downhill and nearly destroyed it. In the end, it was just bent out of shape, and we managed to fix it using only rocks.
I was nervous overnight about whether we would make it to the finish line — and when it happened, I was totally stunned. Honestly, seven days in the saddle is enough! The further we went, the harder it got. But now we finally have these medals around our necks!

Thank you all! Thanks to everyone who helped and supported us — and especially you guys (Mountaintime team).

Boris:
Once again, I totally agree with Vašek. This stage was the shortest, but in some ways the hardest. I’m so happy we’ve finished this race.
I want to thank all of you for cheering us on — everyone who sent us messages throughout the week: family, friends, sponsors, and of course you guys for this insane support. And especially you, Vašek, for being here with me. We did it!

QUICK SUMMARY 🇬🇧: Boris:
The penultimate stage — everything in our bodies hurt. But today was a smooth race. The last 10 km we had trained before the Epic, so when we entered the final trail, we knew every angle. Give us two more weeks and we’ll be ruling it here 😂.

Vašek:
We will be the best 😂. I just want to say that about a year ago I came to Boris with the idea to ride the Epic together — and he didn’t hesitate for a second. He accepted immediately, and I want to thank him for that. He has become my best friend, and I really appreciate it — because as you can imagine, it’s not always easy with me.
Of course, we’ve had some tough moments here; it’s not always easy. I also want to thank our team, family, and friends who support us. Tomorrow, when we finish, we’ll be full of эмоtions after everything we’ve been through this week. So once again, thank you to Boris for being with me the whole time. And thanks to all of you!

QUICK SUMMARY 🇬🇧:
Boris:
We are finally home (in Stellenbosch)! We survived one of the hardest stages in the history of Cape Epic. When we reached the 20 km mark, we were even thinking about turning back. We were completely soaked, and it was raining for five hours today. I have no more words — I’m totally exhausted.

Vašek:
We came to Africa to warm up a little, but in the end, you freeze to the bone, and the only thing you want is to jump into a bathtub full of warm water. Today I reached my limit. We definitely stepped out of our comfort zone. There was mud everywhere, and we were forced to ride without glasses. Our eyes are burning. Just look at us…
It was hard, and we’re happy that after seven and a half hours, we are finally here. We believe we can still achieve our happy ending!
