Our fondest memory of Nthabiseng Morata goes back as long as 2012 when we first met her at a charity fun run organized by Shimza Ash Raphala to raise funds to build toilets for a primary school, Tembisa Chromes Wheelchair basketball team also showed support to the event as one of our objectives is to uplift the community of Tembisa

When everyone was still amazed that these guys in wheelchairs came to participate and show support, KeNthabi approached us and humbly introduced herself as “ KeNthabi wa ha Morata”, her humility, humbleness and her utmost respectful manner could have been easily mistaken for someone who was assigned to welcome us and to see to it that we are well taken care of by the organizers, but nope! She did all that on a personal capacity. Ubuntu bakho/botho ba hao on this day was undoubtedly a symphonic and phenomenal blessing

KeNthabi we celebrate you as a woman of strength, a woman who seeks knowledge and imparts it to others as much as she receives. We salute you for your selflessness for having a greater interest In our community by being proactive and participating in women empowerment. We honour you for your blessed and strong desires to set an awareness path by being actively involved with people living with disabilities

For the first time since 2012, Tembisa Chromes participated in the Gauteng wheelchair basketball league round 1 over the weekend and their rustiness was evident on Saturday the 14th March 2015 @ 14:00 when they came against the formidable South African u23 national squad who ran rampant and dominated the court, although Tembisa Chromes lack proper training facilities and proper wheelchair basketball chairs they showed they possessed ambition to go all the way. Not even the introduction of their other star player Lehlohonolo “Guru” Maubane who is nursing a torn shoulder muscle could save them from the u23s who won 89 - 06

The first Gauteng wheelchair basketball league game on Sunday 15th March 2015 with round 1 continuing @ 10:00 was Tembisa Chromes vs Discovery Eagles B
Tembisa Chromes seemed to have improved a lot defensively coming up against Eagles B, but shooting for the basket was still an uphill battle as they kept shooting wayward shots and wasting many good opportunities to capitalize. The game ended Eagles B 24 – 04 Tembisa Chromes.

Tembisa Chromes 2nd game on Sunday and the 3rd for the weekend was against Ricoh Pumas B @ 16:00. Tembisa Chromes took a huge gamble by fielding Lehlohonolo whose torn shoulder muscle wasn’t any better but one can truly say that in a space of two games Tembisa Chromes was organized defensively and now in attack they took the first two baskets which made it 4 – 0 by the end of the first quarter Tembisa Chromes led 7 – 4 after that they kept chasing the game, before the end of the last quarter Pumas B led 19 – 15 up until Tembisa Chromes star player pulled a three point basket and the game ended being won by Pumas B 19 – 18 Tembisa Chromes. This was a massive improvement by Tembisa Chromes.
