🏁 UPINGTON JUST HOSTED THE WORLD'S FIRST POINTS RUSH

Last night, 31 checkpoints went live across Upington — and a field of runners scattered into the dark to hunt them down.

Here's how Points Rush works:

Every checkpoint around town is worth points. The close, easy ones are worth a little. The far, brutal ones are worth a lot. You scan what you can, in any order you like, and you build your own route as you go.

Then comes the catch: you have to scan the finish before the cut-off. Miss it, and every single point you collected goes to zero.

So it isn't a race about who's fastest. It's about who reads the map right, who knows what their legs are good for tonight, and who knows when to stop being greedy and turn for home.

Last night two runners tied on 200 points — well done Elmarie Venter and Jo-Marie van Aarde 👏

And the highest score of the night? 210 points. Scored nothing. Chased one checkpoint too many and came home late. (Ask the coach how that felt.)

Seven checkpoints were never scanned once — including the four biggest prizes on the map. They're still out there.
