Marked route vs GPS navigated route?
Klipspringer Challenge 2027
Both Lite & Challenge routes are fully marked.
BUT the number of races that require GPS navigation is increasing.
Which is better? It's an old question with no definitive answer. BUT it's important to be aware that you do NOT need a dedicated watch or device to follow a set GPS track, you can comfortably navigate using a smart phone. CAUTION: the one thing you need to take into account if navigating using a smart phone is battery life, and it is strongly recommended to carry a power bank to recharge.
