Lifesaving SA extend a warm welcome to Eligwa Aquatics Club as a new associate member of Lifesaving South Africa.

We look forward to working with this organization to reduce drowning in Southern Africa.

A young boy from Sharpeville won a gold medal against all odds at the OR Tambo swimming championship held this past Saturday at Delville Pool Germiston.

Reamogetswe Moono(14) won a gold medal in 50m breaststroke, swimming way past swimmers who were privileged to train in operating swimming pool while his home swimming pool in Sharpeville, is empty and delapilated.

This talented young boy has been doing land training with coach Tshepo Koatla at the swimming pool with the hope that the pool might open, until they decided to compete under very difficult and impossible circumstances.
We just wonder what the boy could achieve if we provide him with necessary support especially being well maintained and well functioning swimming pool.

We are however positive that the Emfuleni municipality will deal with challenges so that the pool could function again to benefit swimming and lifesaving development programs.
