I love getting climbing lessons from the locals…

Seeing that AH is the flavour of the day, here is a pic that I snapped during the filming of African Fusion. Alex teamed up with Clinton to free Dog of Thunder (30/8a). I use this image to illustrate a few elements to try and focus on in climbing photography : see both hands and both feet, sense of space, climbers face and reaction/engagement in the moment etc. Usually it helps you f can see the angle but you these are just suggestions. You always sacrifice on thing for another. Well done on climbing the tower in fine style. I am sure approved!

What a journey it has been! From victory in the Africa Cup in Pretoria last December to our other home ->
The emotions are crazy as we proudly watch our Olympic climber .j.v.r join the other athletes from all over the world, literally embarking on the opening ceremony journey of a lifetime. It has been a wild ride and the ride is long but over. But for now, we’ll take it all in, embrace the moment and let the Games begin.

Work often takes us away to magical places with beautiful people. But every time I get back home to this place where the orange rock rules, I feel at home. Certainly my happy place. #emgwenya #boven #watervalboven #rockclimbing #orangerock

As we start reflecting on 2022 … it shows that the magic happens when you get out there!

Next year will we challenging too and so will the next year… You know what to do: get out into nature, spend time with beautiful people, climb that mountain and clip those chains. See you out there!
