"Slow is smooth, smooth is fast" — is one of the most important principles in fi***rm training. It's used by Special Forces, competition shooters, and fi***rm instructors worldwide.Here is what it means:1. SLOW IS SMOOTH
When you learn a new skill — drawing your handgun, reloading a sh***un, sight alignment — you must do it slowly and correctly first. No rushing. Your brain is building the correct pathway.If you rush early, you build bad habits: flinching, poor grip, jerking the trigger.2. SMOOTH IS FAST
Once you do it slowly and correctly 100s of times, the movement becomes smooth. No wasted movement. No fumbling.Smooth looks slow, but it's actually much faster than someone rushing and making mistakes. A smooth reload is faster than a fast, sloppy reload that you have to do twice.For your students at AIM, it means:On BASIC 100% target: Don't try to shoot fast. Take your time. Get the fundamentals perfect — grip, stance, sight picture, trigger squeeze. Accuracy first.On BUSINESS PURPOSES 80%: Once you are smooth and accurate, speed will come naturally without you forcing it. That is where you become combat effective.Rushing creates mistakes. Mistakes on the range = Failure. Mistakes in real life = Fatal.It's better to do 10 perfect slow reps than 100 fast bad reps. Muscle memory doesn't know the difference between good and bad — it only remembers what you repeat.

🔥 SAPS SEIZES 100 FI****MS FROM SOWETO SECURITY COMPANY

A major fi***rms compliance operation in Soweto has resulted in around 100 fi***rms and am******on being seized from a private security company.

The seizure took place on Saturday, 22 August 2026, during a compliance inspection conducted by SAPS members operating under Operation Buyisa.

According to police, the company’s Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) accreditation had recently been suspended. Investigators allege that the person responsible for the fi***rms failed to dispose of them as required after the suspension.

Police also found that the company’s fi***rm storage facility did not meet the requirements of the Fi****ms Control Act 60 of 2000.

The seized fi***rms will now undergo ballistic testing to determine whether any of them may have been used in the commission of crimes.

Operation Buyisa is part of SAPS efforts to remove illegal fi***rms from circulation while ensuring that security companies, fi***rm dealers and other fi***rm holders comply with South Africa’s fi***rms laws.

The development also raises an important question: what happens to security guards who depend on company-issued fi***rms to protect themselves and the public if those weapons are removed?

That concern should not, however, be confused with a confirmed claim that the guards are being deliberately sent to confront armed criminals without protection. The immediate confirmed issue is that SAPS seized the fi***rms following alleged regulatory non-compliance.
