The final stage of the SOX 3 Day Trail Run delivers a spectacular finish along the breathtaking coastline of Wilderness in the heart of the Garden Route. After two demanding days in the mountains and forests, runners are rewarded with a fast, scenic route that combines beach running, coastal trails and indigenous forest paths.

Starting at Kleinkrantz Beach, athletes set off along the shoreline with the sound of the ocean and the fresh sea air setting the tone for the day. The route then winds inland through beautiful sections of coastal forest before finishing in style at the Race Village at Fairy Knowe Hotel, where runners cross the iconic floating bridge over the Touw River.

🌲 SOX 3 Day Trail Run – The Forest Stage 🌲

Day two of the SOX 3 Day Trail Run takes runners deep into the magical indigenous forests of the Garden Route. This stage is a true highlight of the event, winding through towering yellowwoods, shaded singletrack, and soft forest floor that makes for an unforgettable trail running experience.

The cool canopy of the forest provides welcome relief as runners navigate flowing trails, wooden bridges and winding paths that showcase the beauty of the Knysna forests. The air is fresh, the scenery spectacular, and every turn reveals another piece of this ancient woodland.

It’s a stage that combines adventure, natural beauty and just the right amount of challenge – reminding runners why trail running in the Garden Route is so special.
