What an extraordinary group! This was probably our most diverse Namaqua Cycling Adventure yet, in age and in so many other ways.

We had 2 adventurers in their 40s, 2 in their 50s, 4 in their 60s, 4 in their 70s, and an incredible 3 in their 80s!

But age quickly became just a number. Somehow, this wonderfully diverse group gelled together in a way that is difficult to explain. There was laughter, encouragement, friendship and a genuine spirit of adventure from beginning to end.

You guys were extraordinary. We had the privilege of being part of it, and it is an adventure I certainly will remember for a very long time.

Thank you for making Namaqua 2026 so special.

Namaqua Cycling Adventure: 13 - 16 August 2026

What an adventure!

The flowers may not have been the carpets we’ve experienced in previous years, but we went looking… and we found them! Beautiful little patches of Namaqua magic that made every moment worthwhile.

More than anything, I’m incredibly grateful for this amazing group, for your positive attitudes, your willingness to adapt, the laughter, the friendships and for simply embracing the adventure for what it was.

We cycled, we explored, we ate, we laughed… and we made some very special memories together.

And then there’s our trusty support vehicle and Kwassie.
An essential part of every Cape Cycling Adventure - carrying bikes, supplies and, occasionally, cyclists whose legs have decided that they’ve had enough adventure for one day!

Thank you to this wonderful group for making our first Namaqua Cycling Adventure of 13 - 16 Aug. 2026 one to remember.

Namaqua, you were different this year… but still very special.

Secrets Namaqualand "Hidden among these quartz stones is a tiny succulent called Conophytum pageae. It's no bigger than a marble, yet after the first autumn rains it produces a brilliant pink flower. What's truly remarkable is that this species is found naturally only here in the Springbok area. Botanists travel from around the world to see plants like this because they exist nowhere else on Earth."
