Ebass 2024 - Roodekoppies. We could not ask for a better start to the season finishing in the top 5. 3rd place result was really unexpected but welcomed. It was very difficult fishing with plenty of small fish and extremely hot weather. It tested our endurance to the max, mentally and physically. Got this 2.27kg kicker, which put us back in the game.Needless to say it was a great team effort. Thank you to Comaro View for the lucky draw and thank you to all the sponsors, organzers and anglers for another great event.π£π£π£

A special Valentine's feature for all the fishing couples out there. The coaching, the semi "arguments" and my "feeshy" lol
It never gets old to catch that one bite you waited for the whole day.
This is what is all about. Quality time spent together.

So we had our first COVID regulated EBass event. It was just one of those days we should have stayed in bed π€£ What I am about to tell here is part of my Bass Memoirs someday to be called What The Fudge! Tried to sum it up but hey, too much to tell π€£Woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed on time, got ready to leave and kazam it started.. Our boat garage door remote went MIA.. nowhere to be found we eventually could open the door manually. The one spring decided it was done so opening it was a mission. Then we drove to the petrol station to get fuel and our usual ice and coke. No ice and no coke. Allready running late. Next up we realized our cranking battery is dead due to "someone" (not mentioning names hereπ) forgetting the ignition on. Turned back home to get a allen key we needed to connect jump starting system, which were left for when we got a new cranking battery. Got to Steves place with minutes to spare, while queing to launch, Jacques connected the system with our Victron batterries used for our finders and trolley motor. We only would know if it works when we launched and were able to start motor. Being only 60 amp batteries and never tested them on our jumpstart setup, we were relieved and impressed. Next up was the run.. The hull just bit down on a wake in the run and we had a 180 carousel move, me holding on for dear life and taking a hard hit on the boat hull to my left arm and chest. Almost went swimming. . Arm out of action, we proceeded to fish, one arm and all and drawing first blood, I broke the ice with a 1.03kg.Final result, we coming in at 13th, explains our day in a nutshell.πππ€£π€£ Moral of the story. In times of crisis you can be sure your Victron Batteries will not let you down. 2x Victron 60 amps can get you out of trouble, if you have a proper jumping system. In excessive winds you need spot lock and reliable power source like our Victron setup. Bass fishing is not a sissy sport. Always finish what you start. Sometimes you just need to laugh because π© happens π€£π£PS found remote of garage in one of my jacket pockets when we were busy fishingπ€£π€£π£π£ At least we got plenty of fish and still kicking π£π£ A big thank you to God for keeping us safe and to live out our dream.Thank you to Victron Energy Southern Africa and for getting and keeping us competing again. And thank you for all the support we get from friends and family. You guys rock!π£π£
