Today we celebrate the spirit of Africa — wild, untamed, resilient and deeply connected to the land.
At Zambian Horseback Safaris, every ride is a journey into landscapes where ancient traditions still shape daily life. Africa Freedom Day is a reminder of the strength, heritage, and unity that continue to inspire this continent.
From the thunder of hooves on the plains to the songs carried across the Zambezi at sunset, this is the Africa we love.

A favourite moment in the Simalaha is meeting the local Lozi fishermen who have lived alongside these waters for generations.
With incredible skill and deep knowledge of the river, they navigate the channels with ease — reading the currents, spotting fish movement and sharing stories of life shaped by the seasons of the floodplains.
A beautiful reminder that a safari is not only about wildlife, but also about the people, culture and traditions that make this landscape so unique.

A family of giraffe moving gently across the plains — calves staying close beside their mothers, alongside sable herds and grazing Lozi cattle.
A beautiful reminder of the harmony between wildlife, culture, and conservation in this extraordinary corner of Zambia. ✨

The coolest pool in Africa! Our pool works in harmony with the wilderness around it. Water is pumped directly from the Kasaya River, naturally filtered and flows through the pool before continuing on to the waterhole — where wildlife often arrives for a drink later in the day.
It’s simple, refreshing and wonderfully wild! Ready for a dip? 🐃🦒
