A deep low pressure system (Tropical Depression) currently located over the Mozambique Channel is anticipated to increase rainfall over Zambia starting from 25th January, 2022. This weather system is projected to traverse through the southern borders of the country (from east to west) during the forecast period leading to increased rainfall activities starting from Eastern Province and spreading over to the rest of the country. The general public is therefore advised to take precautions as flash floods and flooding are expected in most parts of the country. The Zambia Meteorological Department is closely monitoring this weather system and will keep you updated.
