HANDBALL ASSOCIATION OF ZAMBIA COMPLETES 2026 GOVERNANCE FORUM
The 2026 Governance Forum for National Sport Federations has officially concluded, and for the Handball Association of Zambia (HAZ), this has been a transformative two days.
Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts and the National Sports Council of Zambia, this forum served as a critical checkpoint for all sports leaders to ensure our institutions are built on solid, legal, and ethical ground.
A Commitment to Lasting Change
As an Association, we joined our colleagues in pledging to uphold the highest standards of governance. The focus on policy compliance, financial accountability, and leadership transparency is not just an administrative requirement—it is essential for the sustainable growth of handball in our country.
Key Resolutions for the Future
The forum concluded with a unified set of resolutions, formally submitted by NSCZ CEO Sombwa Musunsa and received by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts. These resolutions act as a roadmap for us to improve:
Policy Alignment: Ensuring our constitution and daily operations are in strict harmony with the Sports Council Act.
Financial Integrity: Strengthening our internal systems to ensure every resource is used for the development of the game.
Professional Leadership: Committing to fair, transparent, and inclusive electoral and management processes.
President Victor Banda’s Closing Remarks:
"The conclusion of this forum marks the beginning of a higher standard of work for us at the Handball Association of Zambia.
We are returning with a clearer mandate to lead with integrity. By embracing these governance reforms, we are not just following rules—we are building a more credible, professional, and successful environment for our handball players and the entire sporting community."

HANDBALL ASSOCIATION OF ZAMBIA JOINS THE 2026 GOVERNANCE FORUM 🤾♂️🇿🇲
Today, the Handball Association of Zambia (HAZ) was proud to join fellow national sports federations at the 2026 Governance Forum at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.
As an association, we fully align with the powerful message delivered by the Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, Hon. Elvis C. Nkandu. Transparency, accountability, and strict adherence to both the Sports Council Act and our own constitution are not just guidelines—they are the foundation upon which we are building the future of handball in Zambia.
President Victor Banda’s Statement:
"Integrity is the heartbeat of any sporting organization. At HAZ, we remain steadfast in our commitment to professionalizing our operations and ensuring that our processes—from administration to our electoral procedures—are conducted with the highest standards of fairness and transparency.
