With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Stelios Sardanis.
For many years, Chaminuka Lodge and Nature Reserve has been more than just a sponsor of Lusaka Rugby Club, it has been part of our family.
Stelios quietly carried forward his father’s legacy, supporting our club, our players, our golf team and rugby at both club and national level. His generosity went far beyond sponsorship. He opened the doors of Chaminuka to us, shared its hospitality, and stood with the LRC family through some of our most difficult moments.
We will always remember his kindness, humility and unwavering support for the game we love.
Our deepest condolences to the Sardanis family and the entire Chaminuka team. May you find strength and comfort during this difficult time.

🏉 CHITA CHUSHI CHIBESAKUNDA YOUTH 7s TOURNAMENT 2026 🏉
On Sunday, 31st May 2026, Lusaka Rugby Club proudly hosted the inaugural Chita Chushi Chibesakunda Youth 7s Tournament, a special event held in honour of a man whose passion, dedication and unwavering support played a pivotal role in the growth of our Sunday Kids Rugby Programme.

Chita was more than a supporter of youth rugby—he was a cornerstone of the programme, inspiring and encouraging countless young boys and girls who continue to carry his legacy forward on and off the field.

The tournament brought together four boys' teams and three girls' teams from Lusaka Rugby Club, Mtendere Sharks, Linda Lions and Junior Barbarians, showcasing an exciting day of rugby, sportsmanship, friendship and community spirit.

The competition was played in the true spirit of rugby, with every team demonstrating determination, teamwork and respect throughout the day.

Following the tournament, participants and guests shared a wonderful lunch generously provided by the Chibesakunda Family, creating an opportunity for everyone to celebrate, reflect and strengthen the bonds that make our rugby community so special.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Chibesakunda Family for allowing us to honour Chita's memory in such a meaningful way. We also thank all the players, coaches, parents, club members, volunteers, match officials and supporters whose contributions made the event a tremendous success.

This tournament was a fitting tribute to a remarkable man, and it is our sincere hope that the Chita Chushi Chibesakunda Youth 7s Tournament will become an annual fixture on the Lusaka Rugby Club calendar, continuing to inspire future generations of young rugby players.
