Uko! Ku Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) integrity ya ba questioned
23/02/2024
At this point in our football adventure as a country, the copper queens are more likely to bring a continental trophy than the Chipolopolo.
Obviously there is doubt about the competitiveness of women's football on the continent but the copper queens rise is not magic, it is a result of growing interest in women's football.
Shame the return leg is on the working day because, In all honest, the queens deserve a full to capacity Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Potentially, there has been match fixing in the league. What do you think?

FAZ SUSPENDS REFEREES MANAGER
Press Statement
(For Immediate Release)

Football House, Lusaka
2nd February 2024
FAZ SUSPENDS REFEREES MANAGER
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to inform its members and stakeholders that it has suspended its Referees Manager Aziph Banda with immediate effect.
FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga says the suspension is to pave way for investigations into lingering matters around match officiating.
Kamanga says the decision was arrived at after a meeting by the FAZ emergency committee of the executive that prescribed a comprehensive investigation.
“The decision was necessitated by recurring allegations of match fixing, victimization of whistle blowers and maladministration leading to numerus complaints from stakeholders,” says the FAZ general secretary.
FAZ has since announced that it will open its doors for anyone with possible information to furnish its specialized committee constituted to probe refereeing matters.
“The committee modelled around truth and reconciliation will receive submissions from stakeholders that include suspended, side lined or retired referees who have valuable information to provide for the good of the game,” Kamanga says.
“We are keeping the doors open especially for retired or suspended referees that may feel unfairly treated that they come on board for the good of the game.”
FAZ says the steps taken are to protect the integrity of the game especially after having been alerted to possible fraudulent activities among match officials in collusion with other stakeholders.

Since Kings likes the criticism and he feeds off it, we must say his display at the tournament was like a Facebook player.
Seriously, this guy has waged a war he can never win. Silence is golden. Learn one or two things from Patson Daka .

Your eleven to outsmart DRC, happy?
17/01/2024
A chain is no stronger than its weakest link. As Zambia scheme to defeat the DRC tonight, there lingers doubt over certain players. One of them is Roderick Kabwe who has come in for criticism. Is he Chipolopolo biggest weak link and one the DRC will look to exploit?
And if he is a weak link, who would you have replace him in the starting line up?

THE MOST IMPORTANT CHIPOLOPOLO PLAYERS AS QUEST FOR NUMBER TWO NEARS
After a long absence, the Zambia national team are back at the biggest African football event. Whilst the tournament kicks off tomorrow with The host Ivory coast taking on Guinea, Chipolopolo doesn't take to the pitch until 3 days later.
Zambia are in group F together with neighbors DR Congo, Tanzania and the favorites Morocco.
As Avram Grant looks to complete the resuscitation of Chipolopolo, here are the most important players he will be banking on to translate his game plan to on pitch success:
FRANKIE MUSONDA
Since switching allegiance to Zambia, Musonda has quickly shown his value to the team and at times he has seemed to be the defacto captain. Though not blessed with pace, Musonda has been the metronome in Chipolopolo set up often dictating the tempo and thwarting danger with his impeccable reading of the game. When he's missed games through injury, the Chipolopolo have never looked the same.
STOPILA SUNZU
He is the only one in the squad with the experience of winning the nations cup. He was the man that scored the winning penalty as Zambia won her nations cup final. With mostly a squad making their debut at the tournament, Sunzu will be a sponge of calm for the squad as well as a stalwart at the back.
PATSON DAKA
All Patson Daka does is score goals. And when Zambia kick off the tournament on the 17th, it will be the Leicester man they will look to turn those chances into goals.
He comes into the tournament in hot form for both club and country. Many are already touting him for the golden boot but Zambia will only hope he enough goals to propel them to the later stages and hopefully the final.
FASHION SAKALA
Like Daka, this tournament does feel like one the tournaments the duo have to properly introduce themselves to Africa. Fashion Sakala jnr will always be there to create havov for the opponent and very much of what Zambia does at the tournament will be through him.
LAMECK BANDA
Lameck Banda has enjoyed a great start the Italian Serie A season with Lecce. The wing wizard has continued to grow his reputation in the game and his chicanery will will be crucial as Chipolopolo try to unlock teams.
Honourable mentions:
Kelvin Kaoumbu
17/12/2023
Aside assisting Lecce's first goal, Lameck Banda also created a record yesterday. The world can't wait to see him dribble people at the nations cup.
15/12/2023
The quintessential versatile player. Put him everywhere and you are guaranteed a solid performance.
Rate his chances of making the final squad for the nations cup coming in next month.
To be fair, if a player you vouchsafe for has not made that 55 man squad, then he is just not good enough and not a victim of anything. Another question is whether we needed that 55 man provisional squad but I reckon when the purge starts all will be justified.
Any player who didn't make the squad that you think deserved to?
