Sabonis
One trade created 2 of the best offenses in the NBA.
Less than two years ago, the Sacramento Kings traded a future star they drafted. And if that wasn't crazy enough, that future star LOVED Sacramento.
Think about that.
A kid loved playing for the Sacramento Kings. Who amidst the longest playoff drought in all of American sports.
But what was baffling back then has become clear as day today. And that trade not only helped the King end their playoff drought, but it also supercharged the team they made that deal with.
Today, because of the Haliburton-Sabonis trade, the Pacers and the Kings have two of the best offenses in the NBA.
After 7 games, Indiana has the #1 offensive rating in the NBA and Tyrese Haliburton is straight box office- averaging 24 points and almost 12 assists, which leads the league.
They Pacers dropped 86 points in the FIRST HALF against Wembanyama and the Spurs, and finished the slaughtering with a 152 total points.
Meanwhile, the Kings' offense with Fox and Sabonis has also taken the league by storm.
Don’t forget they had the top-rated offense in NBA history last season. And this year, Sabonis is averaging a double-double again, with his 14 rebounds a game leading the league.
That trade made 90% of NBA fans LIVID.
But not it's looking like it will go down as the biggest win-win in NBA history.

You couldn’t avoid the Wemby hype even if you tried.
If you watched an earlier game on opening night, you saw a countdown to the Wemby debut in the corner of your screen. And if you watched the Wemby debut, you saw him sitting on the bench in foul trouble with his stat line still attached to the scoreboard.
It’s inevitable.
But no matter how bright the light shining on Wemby gets, we can’t let it dim the journeys of others.
Last night, another 7-footer made his debut on that same court. He outscored, out-rebounded and outplayed Wembanyama.
His name is Dereck Lively II, and his story is even crazier. Because while Wemby was driven by the hype, Lively was driven by the pain.
12 years ago, Wembanyama was just getting discovered in Paris. He was covering over 30 feet of distance with two dribbles and two steps at just 8 years old.
That same year, Lively’s life took a very different turn.
“I went to the edge of the stairs and peered down. I see my father black and blue, lifeless on the floor. My mom was over him with her phone in her hand screaming for help to 911. It was too late. He had overdosed on he**in. You never get over it. Whenever you go in the living room, you feel it. The spot where he was on the floor was darker and the rug was a little flatter.”
Dereck carried his father’s heavy name on his back all the way to the NBA. And as tragic as his story is, it prepared him for anything.
Last night, Lively came off the bench to play with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. By halftime, Head Coach Jason Kidd made him the starter. And by the end of the game, it was clear the Mavs found something special.

Lively’s career high at Duke was 13 points. Took him one game to break that number in the NBA.
Dallas needed a big man who can protect the rim and be that lob threat. Now they have one.
But for Dereck Lively II, he just needed an opportunity.
And now he has it…🤷🏽♂️

Gregg Popovich has faced 307 different head coaches in the past 27 years.
307.
The ongoing NBA coaching carousel is relentless. This season, only 4 coaches have been with their team for at least 8 years.
And only the Spurs have had just 1 coach in the past 27 years.
Why is that so wild?
Some coaches get fired after a winning season.
Some get fired after making the playoffs.
Some even get fired right after winning Coach of the Year.
But Gregg Popovich has lasted 27 years.
In that time, every other team has had at least 3 different head coaches.
Meanwhile, in those 27 years, Pop has:
⭐️ Won 5 championships in 3 different decades
⭐️ Made 22 straight playoffs (an NBA record)
⭐️ Become the winningest coach in NBA history
Give respect to the 🐐 coach.
