RED ARROWS LADIES WIN INAUGURAL MABANGA 7s CUP FINAL AS ARROWS B SETTLE FOR PLATE

The Red Arrows Rugby Club Ladies have won the Mabanga 7s Cup final, a Tournament hosted by Kansanshi Dragons in Solwezi.

The Tournament started at 10.36 with a total of 9 teams, 7 men's and 2 women's teams.

The ladies played the Mufulira Leopardess and beat them 21 tries to 12.

The first try was scored by Lushomo Liweme and converted by Dorothy Kasonka, the second and third tries were by Margaret Chilembo and converted by Lushomo Liweme

Coach of the Ladies Team Sydney Mwansapa says they trained and planned for the game, he stated that as a difficult team to beat, the RARC Ladies have managed to beat the Leopardess three (3) times this year.

Mwansapa also said he is proud of the ladies play and tremendous improvement and dedication that they have shown.

And Captain of the team Dorothy Kasonka says she is happy they won despite the tough competition they had, she says she is sorry most of them will miss the Independence Cup Challenge as they will be going into Camp to prepare for National Team duties.

The Club is contributing 14 players to the National Team as they travel to Kampala, Uganda on the 22nd of October for the World Cup Qualifier.

And Men Arrows Team B won the Plate final beating Kansanshi B 27 Tries to Nil.

The first try was scored by Andrew Kapapa and converted by Gift Mwila, second try was scored by Mwamba Chilufya and converted by Gift Mwila, the third try was scored by Kafwimbi Charles and converted by Gift Mwila and the fourth and final try was scored by Gift Mwila and conversion was unsuccessful.

The Teams are now looking forward to the successful hosting of the Challenge Cup to be held on the 29th of October, 2022.
