A SOLID START TO THE 2026 TRANSITIONAL LEAGUE

Kanona FC has made a positive start to the FAZ Central Division Three Zone D2 2026 Transitional League, collecting a point from their opening match.

After one game, Kanona sits 5th on the table with 1 point, having recorded one draw, no losses, one goal scored and one conceded. The team remains unbeaten and is level on points with several other teams in the tightly contested middle of the table.

With the league still in its early stages, there is plenty of room for Kanona to climb higher. The focus now shifts to turning these draws into victories, particularly in the upcoming fixtures.

One point is a start. The journey has just begun. Keep pushing, Kanona! The Horns must keep rocking!

Dear Young Players,

Respect every coach you meet along your football journey, regardless of how much you believe you know compared to them. Even when a coach may appear disrespectful, difficult, or unfair, never allow that to take away your own respect and professionalism.

Football is a very small circle, and life can change from zero to hero in ways you never expect. The coach you once looked down upon or disrespected could one day become the very person holding the key to your next opportunity.

Never burn bridges in football. Talent may open the door, but character, humility and respect can keep it open.

Treat everyone with respect today you never know who may be part of your success tomorrow.

KANONA FC READY FOR A BUSY WEEKEND

Kanona FC are set for a busy weekend as they prepare for two encounters in the space of two days.

The team will finally begin their 2026/2027 FAZ Division Three Central Zone D campaign on Saturday, 26 September, when they host Tazara Academy, following the postponement of their scheduled opening fixture against Chelstone FC.

Head coach Nico is ready for the challenge and will be hoping his players translate their preparations into a strong competitive performance.

The team will then return to action on Sunday for a friendly match against Kolopa of Chieftainess Serenje. The friendly will provide another opportunity for the technical bench to assess the squad and keep the players active.

With two matches lined up, Kanona FC will be looking to make the weekend count as they build momentum for the season ahead.

KANONA FC TURN UP THE HEAT IN PRESEASON

Kanona FC have continued their impressive preparations for the new league campaign with a commanding 4–1 victory over Chansa FC in a preseason friendly.

After falling behind to Chiluya’s 12th-minute goal, Kanona responded with character and purpose, refusing to allow the early setback to dictate the outcome.

Joe restored parity in the 32nd minute before Museba completed the turnaround in the 61st minute. Kanona then shifted into another gear, with Lofwa Jr extending the lead in the 78th minute before Promise put the icing on the cake in the 82nd minute.

The emphatic scoreline reflects a team growing in confidence, cohesion and attacking intent as preparations continue.

For Kanona, the preseason is about more than results. It is an opportunity to build a competitive squad, strengthen understanding among the players and establish the mentality required for the challenges ahead.

As we continue with our league campaign, the team is faced with various financial and logistical demands, particularly transportation, meals, match-day expenses, equipment, and other essential requirements. Meeting these obligations consistently remains a significant challenge, and we therefore humbly seek the support of the wider community.

KANONA FC FIXTURE UPDATE

Following the postponement of all Division 3 Week 1 fixtures, Kanona FC will therefore not travel to Chelston FC for the scheduled league encounter.

The team will, however, maintain its preparations and remain focused on the upcoming league fixture. The postponement will not deter the team’s commitment, as the technical bench and players will continue with their training programme in readiness for the next competitive match.

🌟 APPRECIATION POST 🌟

We, the Kanona Petals, continue to appreciate and recognise the individuals who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of football in our district.

Today, we celebrate Mr. Albert Miselo, a dedicated teacher at Mulepetwe Primary School, a ZASSA Provincial Coach for Central Province, and a FIFA Referee.

Mr. Miselo is a man who has devoted his time, knowledge and experience to the development of football. His contribution both on and off the pitch has helped shape and inspire the game in our community.

As a referee, he is widely known for his firm, disciplined and no-nonsense approach, always demanding professionalism, discipline and respect for the beautiful game.

As Kanona Petals, we believe that recognising the people behind the development of football is important. Their dedication, sacrifices and commitment often go unnoticed, yet their impact continues to be felt by players, coaches and football lovers alike.
