Zambian-Based Volleyball Stars Shine at Zimbabwe Interprovincial Championships
Harare, Zimbabwe – Zambian-based volleyball stars left a lasting mark at the Zimbabwe Interprovincial Championships held in Harare, where their skill and determination stood out on the court. The championship, which also served as the main selection platform for the Zimbabwe national teams, drew the best provincial talent from across the country.
Two standout players—Apronage Ngorima and Dean Mukusa—emerged among the tournament’s top performers.
Best Opposite: Apronage Ngorima
Best Outside Hitter: Dean Mukusa
Their return from Zambia to participate in this prestigious event highlighted both their commitment to representing their provinces and their hunger to compete at the highest level.
The Mash Central team impressed at the tournament.
"We are proud of the performances of our boys who returned from Zambia to take part in this championship," said Nigel Muzongombi Secretary Mash Central Volleyball. "Their contribution reflects the growing depth of talent in Zimbabwean volleyball and strengthens the pool for national selection."
The recognition of Ngorima and Mukusa as Best Opposite and Best Outside respectively not only cements their status as elite athletes but also signals their readiness to contribute to Zimbabwe’s future international campaigns.
As the dust settles on the Interprovincial Championships, all eyes now turn to the upcoming national team announcements, where both players are expected to be strong contenders for selection.
