Weekend Round Up for the Lakers Basketball Foundation: All the teams in the stable played except for Sneakerhub Cubs who had a fixture free weekend. On Friday, Lakers Supermed flipped past NUST B to move to the top of the log since the Titans-City Royals clash was postponed due to the death of Mrs Mhlanga. may her soul rest in peace. Supermed went on to consolidate their victory by winning against the Clippers on Saturday. Lakers Mzansi went three points clear when they beat NUST Phoenix on Friday night. Lakers Talenvision finished the. Friday onslaught on the good boys Pitbull. Saturday morning saw Glenlodge record their second victory of the season. Empire Lakers played a great double header showed more resilience and maturity . This is our Empandeni High School project. The girls are playing beautiful basketball and that is preparing them well for the schools league. They lost to NUST Phoenix and Highlanders. In both games they did not show any signs of being timid they stepped up and went blow for blow. Saturday evening the Talenvision boys came back to Highlanders . The very impressive Highlanders held the boys till half time break but the Lakers boys went a gear up and that was the difference. To sum up a perfect outing for the Foundation the Lakers Legends under the auspices of Hamara as expected gave their usual brand of basketball that saw them prevail against Phoniex. When all has been said and done , the Foundation is doing very well . It is in this set up where we have all teams in the summit of the logs. It is something that the Foundation can be proud of. The partners, parents, Board and well wishers have something to be happy about .

As we enter the second half of the season we want to be stronger and better organised so that all associated with us will be happy. Thank you to Eveline High School for the training facility. As Lakers we are looking forward to the coming half. We want to help BBA and BUZ to spread basketball to the corners of the country. Our mandate is to expose , recruit and nurture. let basketball be the vehicle for self actualization. We had to recall our former great players to come back and make more contributions into the next generation of players . We are a fully fledged foundation with players from five years and the oldest being forty six years now through the concept of 10000Hours and Basketball for healthy living. We have great relationships with teams from Manicaland, Mash Central , Midlands and Harare . Our base is Matabeleland. But we are not restricted to Bulawayo and Mthwakazi but even though we do not forget them the Mat South is the cradle of our organization. We have in our roaster players from Beitbridge, Victoria Falls, Chiredzi , Rusape , Harare and most of our juniors are from Mat South . We want to thank parents and schools along with our highly esteemed partners that the partnership is doing well as numbers increase daily. We have seven competitive teams meaning that if we had an age group league we would field a team in each age group. Thank you to you All that have assisted one way or the other . Gid bless you as we continue from where we left .
