This kind of information doesn’t feel urgent until the moment you need it most.

That’s why education matters. It equips, reassures, and empowers.

In this demonstration, the occupational therapist shows practical steps seniors can take if they fall helping them stay calm, reduce injury risk, and regain control in a vulnerable moment.

Please share this with your parents and the seniors in your life. One older adult recently shared how a fall left them terrified not just because of the fall itself, but because their own mother had once fallen, broken a hip, and never fully recovered. She died.

Research shows that a significant percentage of seniors who suffer a hip fracture either lose their independence or pass away within a year.

Knowledge like this can make all the difference. It’s not just about preventing falls it’s about preserving dignity, confidence, and freedom.

Last Friday on Pathfinders, we entered into one of the most honest and confronting conversations we’ve had so far.

We sat with Valentim Periera as he shared his journey through po*******hy, alcohol, smoking, and substance abuse- struggles that began shockingly early, with exposure to po*******hy at just 4 years old.

What followed was not just a testimony of addiction, but a story of how deeply early experiences can shape identity, coping mechanisms, and the ways we try to escape pain.

There were no polished answers. Just truth. And in that truth, something opened for everyone in the room.

In our group discussions afterward, a clear pattern surfaced across every conversation: unresolved trauma, unprocessed pain, difficulty letting go of the past, social media addiction, perfectionism, and social anxiety.

Different stories, same roots. Different struggles, same undercurrent people trying to manage internal pain in external ways.

And that is what PathFinders ZW is becoming: a space where we stop performing strength and start confronting truth.

It’s uncomfortable because it should be. Growth rarely begins in comfort.
This is where the words of Jesus about the narrow gate take on new weight “small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life.” Because the narrow path is not just a spiritual idea; it’s the daily decision to face what we’ve avoided, to deconstruct what we’ve built for survival, and to no longer run from ourselves.
Not everyone chooses that path. But everyone feels the cost of avoiding it.
8 May 2026 we continue the journey with Tsungie Manyeza, Head of Communications and Marketing at Zinara, as we explore another layer of this process: self image vs internal self and branding. What growth is all about in personal life and in the corporate world.

Pathfinders is not about easy answers. It’s about honest ones.

Good roads don’t prevent accidents.
Good drivers do.
We’re investing in infrastructure, vehicles, and systems.

But we’ve ignored the most important factor
The human behind the wheel- The Mutyairi!

Fatigue. Stress. Lack of discipline.
That’s where accidents begin.

The Mutyairi Programme exists to fix that.

Get this 👣….Your toes can predict how long you stay independent.

After age 50, your foot strength drops by 35%. 1 in 4 adults will suffer a life-altering fall because of it. If you check the numbers just only in Zimbabwe you’ll realize this is a reality.

And most of the time, it has nothing to do with weak legs. It’s because their foundation is crumbling.

Think of your Body Vehicle (Simuka Wellness Method)- Your feet are the tires. They are your only contact patch with the earth. If your tires are bald and lack grip, it doesn’t matter how powerful the engine (your legs) is- the vehicle is fundamentally unsafe on the road.

Modern shoes have essentially put our feet in casts. We prioritize how they look over what they actually do.

You don’t have to throw away all your shoes and walk barefoot everywhere. But you DO need to build strong, resilient feet that can actually feel and grip the ground.
Discipline starts from the ground up.

If you want to maintain your mobility, stability, and freedom as you age, you have to train your feet just like you train the rest of your body.

Don’t let a weak foundation ground your vehicle. Start building from the floor up today. 👣

Over the years, many of us have faced our own battles- setbacks, heartbreak, habits we can’t seem to break, and moments that force us to confront who we really are.

Growth doesn’t come from avoiding those moments.
It comes from facing them.

Because peace isn’t given to the passive- it’s discovered by those willing to wrestle with themselves.

The real battle isn’t out there.
It’s within.

And real change?
It doesn’t come from repeating the same mistakes and asking for forgiveness.

It comes from taking responsibility, breaking patterns, and doing the work.

That’s why this Friday matters.

At Pathfinders, we’re not just having conversations- we’re creating space for real, honest journeys.

This week, we’re joined by Valentim Pereira, who will be sharing his personal story- his struggles with addiction, from drugs to po*******hy, and how he is actively working to rebuild his life.

He’s not coming as someone who has it all figured out.
He’s coming as someone who chose to grow and is still growing

And sometimes, that’s the most powerful story you can hear.

Breakthroughs are not random events- they happen when opportunity meets preparation. Most people miss opportunities not because they lack potential, but because they are unprepared to recognize or handle them.

Using the example of the Three Wise Men, the message emphasizes that success comes from discipline, awareness, and readiness. They didn’t stumble upon Jesus by chance- they studied, understood the signs, and came prepared with resources that supported a greater purpose.

The same principle applies in life and business: you don’t rise to opportunities; you qualify for them. Many people claim they want success but avoid basic preparation-like setting up proper structures, developing skills, or learning how to operate in higher-level environments.

Personal experience reinforces this truth- lack of preparation can lead to embarrassment and exposure, especially in global or professional spaces where standards matter.

The core message: stop waiting for breakthroughs and start preparing for them. Growth requires intentional development-especially in areas like etiquette, awareness, and presentation.

The upcoming Pathfinders session with Ambassador Dr. Muchada is positioned as a practical opportunity to gain these essential skills and better position oneself for real opportunities.

See you tomorrow

Sometimes you want to be your best work harder, think sharper, and summon unwavering mental strength but you simply can’t. Fatigue sets in, your mind feels heavy, and your energy fades. This isn’t just about “trying harder.” It’s about the mechanisms that govern your life.

Performance is never an accident. It is always the outcome of systems working in harmony or failing to. High performance, well-being, and even disease emerge from these interconnected mechanisms. Just as exercise contributes immensely to health but is not the only factor, so too smoking does not singularly cause lung cancer; it is the interaction of many elements over time that determines outcomes.

If you want a lifestyle that fosters both health and peak performance whether in the boardroom, on the field, or in your personal life you must work on these mechanisms:

Nutrition: Fuel your brain with omega-3 fatty acids nature’s most potent support for neural health and cognitive function. Magnesium, too, is essential, aiding in energy production, stress regulation, and muscle recovery. What you eat doesn’t just feed your body — it shapes your capacity to think, decide, and lead.

Sleep: Perhaps the most overlooked pillar of performance. Sleep restores both body and mind, regulates hormones, repairs tissues, consolidates memory, and resets emotional balance. Without it, you operate in an energy deficit, crave quick fuel like refined carbs, and spiral into reactive, low-performance states.

Relationships: A healthy support system is not “nice to have” it is neurobiology. Feeling loved, accepted, and understood calms the nervous system, reducing cortisol and fostering resilience. Human connection is as vital to health as nutrition or movement.

Faith, Meditation, Gratitude, and Prayer: These are not abstract “extras” they are performance tools. When your body and mind are well, you are more attuned to the infinite, creative energy of God. You shift from living in scarcity and desperation to living in contribution and possibility. Ill health often narrows our vision of God to the role of “healer,” but when we are well, we experience God as Creator, Source, and Sustainer empowering us to illuminate, to build, and to serve.

Nature: We are not separate from creation we are part of it. Time in nature regulates stress, restores mental clarity, and renews the spirit. The same God who designed your biology also designed the natural rhythms that restore it.

High performance, longevity, and holistic well-being at any level are not coincidences. They are the fruits of consistency, of living in alignment with the body’s natural drive for homeostasis the inner balance where every cell, organ, and system functions as intended.

And here’s the truth: We are all athletes. Cristiano Ronaldo might use his legs to make a living, but you might use your mind, your voice, or your hands. If you have a body, you are an athlete as Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman said. Your arena might be the boardroom, a hospital ward, a classroom, or a studio, but your need for peak performance is just as real.

So, if you want to lead, create, and endure care for the mechanisms. Align them. Protect them. Strengthen them. The world will feel your difference.

They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, which is why we build the foundation early.

Most adults only start exercising when a doctor tells them they have to- treating movement like a chore or a medical prescription.

But when you start at 11 years old, it doesn’t take a mindset shift; it simply becomes part of your identity.

Remember, we aren’t just raising children; we are raising future adults. Equip them now, so taking care of their body (vehicle) is second nature later. 💪🏾
