Been a bit quiet on here recently ๐ซข but a lot has been happening so time for a quick update ๐
โผ๏ธAt the end of July I will be relocating to LONDON ๐ฌ๐งโผ๏ธ

This move has been a long time coming since I studied my Masters in Leeds in 2019. I was lucky enough to come home to Zim before C0vid hit and Nicola Jane Pilates was born ๐ค

But the time has come to try something new ๐ซ I have finished teaching all my studio classes here in Harare and very sadly closed my studio, which was a really tough pill to swallow after having most of my clients for 4 years ๐ข

My page may be a bit quiet over the next few weeks as we pack up to leave but I will keep you all up to date with our move and new adventure ๐

Working through some early core rehab exercises using the ๐ต
โข
These exercises are safe for recovery from both natural and caesarean delivery depending on your body and focuses on the for and ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ

Iโve kept the sound on to hear the breath for each movement which is crucial to managing - using the exhale to connect the deep core and wrap the abdominals to support the movement and the inhalation to reset ๐ฎโ๐จ the video is sped up 5x so take all of these suuuper slow and focus on allowing the breath to lead the movement!

Your body will tell you when youโre feeling ready to start rehab and thereโs always room to regress each movement by limiting range of motion to a comfortable point, especially if youโre recovering from a C-birth.
All these exercises are a great way to slowly re-engage your core post baby and prepare your body to go back into an exercise routine - itโs never too late to heal the core and make sure the pelvic floor is well supported!

For our early morning stretch class today we partnered up to work through a few passive stretches ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ
These exercises helped to get deeper into the fascia and muscles, and gave our partners the chance to feel how our muscles respond to passive movement as well as our response to resistance and how our range of motion changes with assisted stretch exercises.
