Seeing a child swim in the shallow end doesn't mean they can handle the deep end. When Arsenal finally got into deep waters, we all saw what happened, they drowned. I thought they were great swimmers when they were beating West Ham, Wolves, and the likes, but the deep end ( PSG ) exposed them. 😄⚽

One Single Call Changed the Dynamos Fortunes

The city of Harare had almost given up on Dynamos Football Club.

The Glamour Boys were no longer glamorous. Every week came with disappointment, angry supporters, empty promises, and endless social media ridicule. Former giants had become a laughing stock.
Blue shirts still filled the streets, but hope was fading.
Then came one unexpected phone call.

It was an ordinary radio program, the kind where fans call wealthy businessman Wicknell Chivhayo to request assistance for community projects, churches, schools, or football clubs.
Among the callers was a young man named Odicious Innocent Dzamara.
Nobody knew him.
He was not a politician.
Not a football administrator.
Not a celebrity.
Just a loyal Dynamos supporter with courage in his heart and pain in his voice.
When his turn came, he spoke respectfully:
“Sir Wicknell, please buy a bus for Dynamos Football Club.”
The studio suddenly became silent.
People expected a long speech, maybe begging or praising.
But Odicious went straight to the point.
Then Wicknell laughed slightly before responding with words that immediately exploded across Zimbabwean social media:
“If Dynamos beat Caps United on Sunday, I will buy the team a bus.”
Boom.
Within minutes, Facebook, WhatsApp groups, and taxi ranks were on fire.
“Bus game!” people called it.
Others said: “Dynamos are now playing for transport!”
Even rival supporters joined the jokes.
Sunday, 10 May 2026 arrived.
Rufaro Stadium was overflowing with people hours before kickoff. Vendors sold jerseys, whistles, roasted maize, and free football opinions.
According to Zimbabwe Football Association, more than twenty-five thousand supporters paid to watch the match.
Caps United supporters turned the stadium into a sea of green.
Songs shook the old stadium walls.
Drums echoed.
Flags danced in the air.
And the song that stole the show from the Green Machine supporters was:
“Pane mbavha mbiri dzandakavenga… Chivhayo naScott!”
Every time they sang it, the green half erupted with laughter while the blue side watched in frustration.
Dynamos supporters tried to respond with energy, but nervousness was written all over their faces.
Because this was no ordinary derby anymore.
A bus was on the line.
The match began at a furious pace.
Caps United attacked with confidence and purpose. Dynamos looked tense, as if the pressure of social media memes had entered the pitch with them.
Then disaster struck.
Caps United scored.
The green side exploded like thunder.
At halftime, Caps United led 1–0.
Dynamos fans sat quietly, staring at the ground. Some were already imagining the bus driving away into the sunset.
The second half became chaotic.
Dynamos pushed forward desperately.
Then, in the dying minutes of the game, the referee pointed to the penalty spot.
Penalty for Dynamos!
The stadium froze.
The Dynamos player stepped forward, wiped his face, and blasted the ball into the net.
1–1.
The blue half of Rufaro suddenly came alive again.
People screamed:
“Bhazi rauya!”
“The bus is coming home!”
But football can be cruel.
Just moments later, Caps United were also awarded a penalty.
This time, the green supporters sang before the kick was even taken.
Goal.
2–1.
The final whistle blew shortly afterward.
Caps United had won.
Green smoke filled the skies above Rufaro Stadium as Caps supporters celebrated wildly. Dynamos players collapsed onto the grass in disbelief.
The dream was dead.
Or so everyone thought.
That night, social media became a war zone.
Cartoons flooded Facebook.
Some showed Dynamos players chasing a bus that was driving away.
Others showed supporters sleeping and dreaming about luxury coaches.
One viral meme showed the team waiting at a bus stop carrying football boots.
The defeat was painful to the entire Dynamos family.
Even at workplaces the next morning, people mocked Dynamos supporters.
At commuter ranks, conductors shouted:
“Bhazi reDynamos rakazara!”
Laughter everywhere.
Then Monday morning came.
And everything changed.
Early on 11 May 2026, Wicknell Chivhayo released a statement.
People expected mockery.
Instead, shock covered the nation.
He announced:
Despite Dynamos losing, he would still buy the club a brand-new team bus.
Not only that.
He would also give the players fifty thousand United States dollars to share among themselves.
Zimbabwe froze.
WhatsApp statuses changed immediately.
Radio stations discussed nothing else.
At workplaces, nobody focused on work.
At barber shops, markets, and taxi ranks, there was only one topic:
“Did you hear what Wicknell said?”
Even rival fans were stunned.
Dynamos had lost the match…
…but somehow won the biggest prize.
And at the center of it all was one young supporter:
Odicious Innocent Dzamara.
One simple phone call.
One request.
One moment of bravery.
People began saying:
“Through Odicious, Dynamos became winners without winning.”
Others called him: “The man who assisted Dynamos with airtime.”
And as reports emerged that the process of purchasing the bus had already started, hope slowly returned to the blue side of Harare.
Sometimes football is not just about goals.
Sometimes it is about belief.
Sometimes history does not begin in a boardroom or on a football pitch.
Sometimes…
it begins with one fearless phone call. In
