This Wednesday at 12.30 and Thursday at 17.45 we are doing an inspired yoga class. Anusara is one of the new trendy yoga hypes (guess from where: right, the USA) which basically has not invented new asanas (postures) but focussing on inner spirals, outer spirals, muscular and organ will give some of the asanas a slightly new flavour.
Additionally, we will work on our lower trapezius muscle group, a very much neglected area of our bodies, but very useful ,for example if you had the silly urge to place your hands over your head...
So I hope to see you at Franjipanji 38 Mount Pleasant Drive.

Hi everyone, do you also sometimes get confused with all the different yoga styles?
Here is a brief part 1 to explain briefly the difference between and yoga
And Yes: this is disputable…there are many different opinions on what is true and what are just alternative facts….
So here comes my brief draft of an explanation.
The Ashtanga Yoga is a style of yoga codified and popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois during the 20th century which is often promoted as a modern-day form of classical Indian yoga. Ashtanga means eight limbs or branches, of which asana (physical yoga posture) is only one branch, some others are meditation, breathing exercises and your behaviour towards yourself and others. An Ashtanga yoga class follows a strict sequence of asanas staying 5 breaths or longer in most of the postures. The rhythm and structure of an Ashtanga class is given and clearly structured. In Ashtanga Vinyasa the yoga instructor builds a sequence of ashtanga poses, which may change in pace and order. Vinyasa has more connected movements, leading you into a flow, while a pure Ashtanga class will bring concentration, focus and pauses in between the single postures.
