We’re reliving all the best moments from the recently held Chinese Corner- the music, the food, the colour, and the cultural exchange 🎎πŸ₯‘🎡🎢.

Our students stepped into Chinese culture and embraced every experience with curiosity βœ…οΈ.

It was lively, engaging, and a beautiful showcase of the diversity we celebrate.

Here’s to learning beyond the classroom and creating memories together πŸ’―

She was one of the very first students to walk in Gateway High School's halls. Today, she is a wife, mother of three, and a teacher of English and Latin Literature - passing on the love for learning the school first sparked in her πŸ“šπŸ–Š. Berth's story is a beautiful reminder that God's faithfulness carries us further than we ever expectπŸ™.

This we are excited to have Berth Hulley-Griffiths on our Alumni Spotlight πŸŽŠπŸŽ“πŸŽ‰.

This is what she had to say about her experience and the impact our school had on her.

"Well, here l am, looking back and remembering that I was there once...31 years ago when Gateway High School was only two years old. Entering in Form 2 I loved the fresh new feel, having come from a well-established high school.

I enjoyed the new start of everything. It provided
a sense of freedom and I liked the lack of
pressure it offered.

Our Physics teacher taught us tennis. We played
at Arundel School because at our School we just
had grounds, a building and bike stands. No
sports facilities, trees to sit under, major sports
teams, or established clubs, but I loved the new
start. Each teacher made us feel part of a family;
no favourites, yet personal. Gateway was a place
to thrive!

My Gateway school-life ended after Form 4 in
1995 because of health issues and I finished my A
Levels through self-study.

I am now married with three children. My English
Literature teacher would be thrilled to know that
I taught my children English and Latin Literature
to Cambridge A Level. She really did inspire my
love for literature.

My story does not point to great
accomplishments, but struggle, nights of
prayer and often against-the-odds
depending on God when all seems lost. We
don’t always choose the way our life should
go but we can choose how we respond. I
can honestly say I have absolutely no
regrets about trusting God in the messy
past and the unsure future.

He is faithful and worthy of our trust. And
so my story is about Him, for He alone has
kept me and deserves all glory."

We appreciate you Berth! Thank you for this heartfelt message πŸ‘πŸ‘.

It's Tuesday again. Every week, we step aside and let our students speak for themselves with no script and no filter πŸŽ₯πŸ“Ή.

These are just honest reflections on what learning at Gateway High School actually feels like πŸ«πŸ“š.

This week, we're handing the mic to Aimee Mudzudza, and she's ready to share her story🎀️.

It's and this week we are sharing what's keeping us steady and grounded as a school πŸ’«.

This term's theme is "Anchored in Christ" from the Bible verse in Hebrews 6:19a.

When the storms of life β›ˆοΈ come your way - what do you hold onto? For us, Jesus Christ is our anchorβš“οΈ . Because of Him we walk into the classroom, into every match or school event with quiet confidence, stability and clear direction πŸ‘£βž‘οΈ.

That's the kind of stability no storm can shake β€οΈπŸ’™β€οΈπŸ’™.

Our Girls Hockey U14s are only in their first high school season, but wow β€” they keep getting better πŸ’―.

With every game they are learning more skills and enjoying every minute along the way πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ‘.

The key takeaways from this weekend's game against Hellenic were:
βœ…οΈ Improved Attack & Defence - we’re getting stronger on both ends.
βœ…οΈ Exposure- valuable game experience that’s building their skills.
βœ…οΈ Team Fun - we’re learning together and loving the game.

They’ve come so far as a team from game 1. Watch this space ✨️ πŸ‘.
