Biggie Zuze "Bindura Part 1". Nzou. 6 years later I had to first check if I was still Admin of this page before sitting down to write - about a good man. A co-worker broke the news to me via a WhatsApp message. "Nedza Biggie Zuze ka" was the message. To say I was shocked is an understatement. Ndakapusa, ndikashamisika, ndikarwadziwa and I just stared at my phone in disbelief. Then a colleague I had been talking to asked 'Kwakanaka?". Of course kwanga kusina. How does such a good man disappear just like that ?.
Affectionately we all knew him as Nzou, his totem. I got to know about Biggie in the press and radio football commentary when I was a young boy in Torwood, Redcliff. Years later it was humbling to be working with such a popular figure. Biggie Zuze joined Monoz in 2012 from Blue Ribbon Stars after being roped in as assistant by Tawurayi Mangwiro. Those of us who had watched Blue Ribbon FC play will attest to their flair and passing game under Misheck Marimo, assisted by Nzou. I had no doubt that Nzou would fit into the Monoz system of play – passing, passing and passing kusvika bhora raponja. We had two proponents of the passing game on our bench - Tawu and Nzou.
Tau left, as coaches do, and took up a bigger challenge elsewhere. Up stepped Nzou for Head Coach post. He never disappointed. The passing, the flair, the winning and the exciting game that was synonymous with Monoz continued. 2012 certainly passes as one of Monoz's best season under Nzou. Highlanders fans dont want to be reminded about that season as twice Nzou snatched "morsels of food" right off their mouths. First it was the 3-0 drubbing that all but put them out of the championship race and the final nail was the 3-2 defeat at the Colliery that sent Highlanders crashing out of the cash rich Mbada Diamonds Cup. A 3rd place finish and Mbada Diamonds Cup final capped Nzou's first season as Head Coach. A shield for Most Disciplined Team was also Monoz’s that year. Well done Nzou !
There was something about Monoz that made it feel like Family or home. Nzou, amongst other things, was the reason Monoz was the Family we all loved. He seemed to have no emotions. If he did then he only had positive emotions. He only showed emotions when he celebrated wins or celebrated the graduation of a youngster into the first team. Never sad.
Having played for the country's biggest and most successful team and leaving an indelible footprint Biggie still remained humble. His humility surprisingly tagged along serious humour. The man had jokes, on and off the field. This writer travelled thousands of kilometres with Nzou to almost every stadium in the country. He was a rib cracker. If you didn’t want to laugh then you just had to sit far from Nzou.
Whenever I go to Alex Sports Club I see a number of colleagues there, Taurai Jacobs Agogo, Rangarirai Chakweva, Dallas Gladman Sekawawana, Godfrey Japajapa, Patrick Matogo Muteswa, Spencer Manguwa, the list is endless. Diego Machingura also teases from his Jo’burg base. They say Chakamakwa ka ? in apparent reference to Monoz’s nickname CHINOMAKWA NANI. My response always is "Chakamakwa ne cash". I'm mentioning this because Monoz was relegated under the stewardship of Nzou. I didn't and still don't believe that Monoz's relegation was because of deficiency on the bench. NO ! There were UNDERLYING CIRCUMSTANCES - sponsorship. Biggie played his part.
As Nzou went about his craft he didn’t go unnoticed. His first seal of approval was from Triangle FC, his preferred employer of the 4 who offered him jobs, after the demise of Monoz. Gishon Ntini’s (may he rest in peace) milestone at Triangle was promotion into the PSL. Nzou was to add yet another accolade to the Sugar Boys’ cabinet – The One Wallet Cup. His troops from the Monoz side didn’t disappoint either as all but one of the 30 players were snapped up by Premier League teams. NZOU RAN A GOOD RACE for Monoz in particular and football in general. Death is a cruel thief and has yet again robbed us of a brother, friend, father, coach.

FARE THEE WELL NZOU – OUR GAFFER. REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.
You will be sadly missed by all of us.

I DUG AND INTO OUR ACHIVES AND RETRIEVED MY FAREWELL MESSAGE TO OBEY WHEN HE LEFT FOR ZPC.
With love from Sonyoso to Eagles ‘’MaDutch’’ to Monomotapa UFC ‘’Chinomakwa Nani’’ and now ZPC Kariba ‘’Katuruturu’’. This is the story of Obey Mwerahari ‘’Obinna’’ who has officially joined the electricity men’s team .
Sonyoso was a ground in Chitungwiza where many PSL players started their careers. Among those who innocently played in the ground are Obey Mwerahari, Jimmy Tigere, Ronald Chitiyo, Ronald Pfumbidzayi. The list is endless. Sonyoso is no more. One follower of this page, a Herbert Mhundwa, told us that Sonyoso gave way to residential stands.
Obey is among a rare breed of players – very talented and disciplined. This is every coach’s dream player. That Monomotapa UFC won the Most Disciplined Team 2012 is testimony of Obey’s influence on the team. With so many young players in the team Vice Captain Obey gave direction to the future stars. Financial problems at the team did not turn volatile as the youngsters had role models in the form of Obey and Ronald Chitiyo to learn from. Monoz could have again won the Most Disciplined Team 2013, but were disqualified after arriving at Sakubva 45 minutes after kick off.
A very close buddie of Ronald Chitiyo, now at Dynamos, Obey is happily married to Nicole (in the picture). Tough luck to the single ladies - he is taken. He is in his final year of studies for a Marketing degree. The love birds have no kid yet.
Obey will definitely be one of the top players at Saul Chaminuka coached ZPC. We wish him well in the hot town of Kariba and may the good Lord guide him to fulfil all his dreams as a professional football player and as a marketer if ever he is going to persue that.
ADIOS OBEY !! BON VOYAGE OBINNA
IT WAS INDEED A GREAT YEAR FOR OBEY AT ZPC.

WE SAY WELCOME BACK TO HARARE OBEY.

The talented right back, who is also comfortable as a midfielder joined Monoz as a junior after being identified by Clayton Munemo at Startrek. He worked hard and earned a first team jersey at Monoz. Zizou hails from the same hood with Zimdancehall Man of the moment TOCKY VIBES …ah ah hiii hiiii . KuRugare. Returning to the capital from Shabanie FC, he reconciles with former coach Biggie Zuze former Chinomakwa Nani players Artwell Mukandi, Ocean Mushure and Russel Madamombe (if he signs). REST IN PEACE … EDMORE ‘’MARAZOR’’ CHITATO
(1st picture Eddied jogs with Vorster Chitema. 2nd picture He lines up back row standing 2nd from right)

It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Edmore Chitato today. Nicknamed Marazor at Monoz. After playing for Masvingo United and Hwange the Dzivaresekwa born Eddie arrived at Monoz in 2005 alongside another Dzivaresekwa boy and his childhood friend Takesure Chinyama. He scored for Monoz on his debut at Callies against Motor Action. He was to play for the team till the end of the 2009 season. Donning the number 10 jersey Eddie played in Norman Mapeza’s all conquering Monoz of 2008 that was to be only the second team in Zimbabwe football history after Dynamos to play in the Champions Legaue group stages in 2009.
Some of the players who played alongside Chitato at Monoz are Sageby Sandaka, James Phiri, Herbert Dick, Vorster Chitema, Tinarwo brothers, Charles Chiutsa, Daniel Zokoto, Talent Gwaze, Mthulis Maphosa, Muzondiwa Gonese, Charles Joe, Godfrey Mangove, Tendai Samanja, Russell Madamombe
Mozambican by nationality, Chitato renounced his dual citizenship in 2005 to take up full Zimbabwean citizenship. Gifted with speed, power and accuracy in front of goal the midfielder Chitato played just behind the strikers, but was always on the score sheet – mostly with booming shots from just outside the box. His attainment of Zimbabwean citizenship seemed to have been guided by his ambitions as he graduated into Sunday Chidzambwa coached national team and he played in the CHAN tournament.
At talent infested Monoz a new midfield genius was emerging – Russell ‘Mabalito’ Madamombe. When the young Russell started playing ahead of him Eddie decided it was time to leave. Eric Rosen’s Mighty Bulls in Eastlea was to be his new home before moving to Arthur Chitunhu’s Kiglon Bird FC. Chihuri’s boys Black Mambas is where he ended his career to go into business – cellphone trading and taxis. I personally last saw Eddie with his taxi in Waterfalls years back.
The last I heard/read about him was on DeMbare Dotcoms, who produced an image of ‘MaRazor’ with swollen feet and tummy and trying to get assistance for him. He was unwell. Sadly he has passed on. Eddie will be missed by all of us in the football fraternity. May his soul rest in eternal peace. REST IN PEACE EDDIE
MONOZ WILL NEVER DIE !!! NOT IT WONT. Just like Black Aces, Black Mambas and Zimbabwe Saints who lied low and returned WE WILL BE BACK.
CHINOMAKWA NANI….HACHIMAKIKI CHAKAIPA !!! PASS AND SUPPORT (STANDARD)

Confirmation NOTICE : Monomotapa UFC WILL NOT be playing in the Northern Region D1. To ensure continuity of the Mutapa project we are now registered as an Academy and we are working on the logistics of seeing the arrangement taking off. This has been necessitated by the need to align our ambitions with our budgets. This is a practical and realistic (doable) target for now. We will keep you posted. Thank you to all who have supported us, believed and still believe in this project.
