Losing weight is not automatically a sign that you're getting healthier.
If the only goal is to make the number on the scale go down, people can resort to extreme calorie restriction, skipping meals, excessive exercise, dehydration, or other unsustainable methods.
Yes, you may lose weight.
But what did you actually lose?
Fat? Great.
But if you're also losing muscle, energy, strength, performance and your ability to maintain the lifestyle long-term, then the method deserves a second look.
Healthy weight loss should be about more than a smaller number on the scale.
The goal is not simply to become lighter. The goal is to become healthier.
So don't ask only:
"How quickly can I lose 5kg?"
Ask:
"How can I lose this weight while becoming healthier in the process?"
Because being slimmer isn't the finish line.
Being healthier is.
