Pahukama Move Within Reach of League Glory After 13–5 Victory Over Players
By Prince Bushu
Warren Park ,Harare — Pahukama Pool Club tightened their stranglehold on the Nevsun Premier Pool League title race on Saturday after overpowering Players Pool Club 13–5 in a decisive Matchday 18 encounter at Widzo Bar, Pfukwa Shopping Centre.
The victory extends Pahukama’s lead at the top of the table to four points ahead of second-placed BnB Mega, setting up a high-stakes showdown between the two sides tomorrow a match that could mathematically seal the championship.
Pahukama started the match on the back foot as Bezel fell to Katenda in the opening frame. But the early setback did little to shake the league leaders. Autherbellz, Programmer, Maluva, Mercy, Figo, and Rooney delivered crucial wins in the first segment, helping Pahukama take control of the match.
Only Sullivan and Aviator suffered defeats in the first half, losing to Tadiwa and Mugova respectively. The segment ended with Pahukama leading 7–2, putting immediate pressure on the visitors.
In the second segment, Players attempted a comeback after Nigere defeated Mambo, but Pahukama quickly reasserted dominance. Deletee, Maluva, Sullivan, Mumu, Aviator, Ndundu and others stepped up, closing out the final frames with precision and confidence.
The match ended 13–5 a statement win that pushed Pahukama closer to their long-awaited league crown.
Pahukama’s position at the top was further strengthened earlier in the day when league officials ruled on last weekend’s contentious match against Island Cue Stars.
The heated fixture had ended in a draw, but one frame between Sullivan (Pahukama) and Matope (Island Cue Stars), was suspended after what referees deemed a bona fide attempt violation by Matope.
After a disciplinary review, the league awarded the disputed frame to Pahukama. Officials also confirmed that Pahukama would receive an additional point from the match, bringing their tally further clear of BnB Mega.
The decision has sparked debate across pool circles, with some clubs welcoming the transparency while others argue the ruling may influence the title race. However, league administrators insist the verdict followed established regulations.
Pahukama’s victory over Players — combined with the disciplinary points gained — means tomorrow’s encounter with BnB Mega could decide the championship.
If Pahukama secure a win, they will move out of reach and claim the 2025 Nevsun Premier Pool League title. A loss, however, would reopen the race heading into the final stretch.
This was one of our most important wins of the season for Pahukama, Tomorrow’s match is like a final for them. There are four points clear, but they still have work to do.
BnB Mega, who have quietly built momentum in the second half of the season, are expected to field their strongest lineup. Their camp believes they still have a realistic chance of turning the tables.
Whether tomorrow brings celebration or suspense, Pahukama have placed themselves firmly at the front of the championship race. With momentum, clarity from the disciplinary ruling, and renewed confidence, the team now stands on the brink of lifting one of the country’s most competitive pool titles.
For now, all roads lead to Matchday 19 — where Pahukama and BnB Mega will collide in what promises to be a defining chapter of the 2025 season.

Pahukama Edge BnB Ruwa 12–6, Set Stage for Title Decider Against Iceland Cue Stars
By (Prince Bushu), Warren Park
Harare— League leaders Pahukama Pool Club tightened their grip on the Nevsun Premier Pool League title race after a hard-fought 12–6 victory over a resilient BnB Ruwa side in a thrilling Week 16 encounter at Widzo Bar, Warren Park D Pfukwa Shopping Centre on Saturday.
The win keeps Pahukama at the summit of the league standings as they prepare for a potentially decisive clash against second-placed Iceland Cue Stars — a showdown many believe will determine this season’s champions.
The match carried extra weight for BnB Ruwa, a side whose journey this season has been anything but smooth. Formerly known as Leisure Centre, the club was on the brink of exit after losing its sponsorship midseason. But a timely takeover by BnB Ruwa breathed new life into the team, allowing them to stay in the league and continue competing.
Despite the 12–6 defeat, BnB Ruwa showed flashes of quality and determination, particularly in the first segment where they managed to claim key frames against Pahukama’s seasoned lineup.
The match began with mixed fortunes for the home side. Mumu stumbled early against Hardy, but Ndundu, Aviator, and Shosho quickly restored momentum with convincing wins over Germany, Sir Roda, and Eniviolata respectively.
Veteran cueists O’Sullivan and Maluva displayed calm under pressure, each sealing vital points before the break to give Pahukama a slender lead. The first segment closed 5–4 in favor of the hosts, setting up an intense second half.
After the interval, Pahukama’s experience shone through. Aviator, Sullivan, Deletee, and Maluva were in fine form, executing tactical brilliance to overwhelm BnB Ruwa’s mid-table pairings. The day’s highlight came in frame 18, where Autherbellz sealed the victory with a composed finish against Hardy to close the match 12–6.
With the win, Pahukama remain clear at the top but now turn their attention to Iceland Cue Stars, who trail narrowly in second place. The upcoming fixture, to be played at Iceland of Joy, is expected to be the league’s biggest showdown yet.
“This was a must-win for us,” said Pahukama Manager Jadah after the match. “We respect Iceland — they’re a quality side — but we’re ready for them. Every frame counts now.”
While Pahukama celebrate another victory, several issues continue to affect the broader Nevsun Premier Pool League. Clubs have raised concerns over sponsorship instability, travel allowances, and venue standards, particularly for out-of-town fixtures.
BnB Ruwa’s situation underscores a growing challenge for many teams struggling to attract financial backing. Without consistent sponsorship, several clubs risk disbanding or selling their franchises — a trend that threatens the league’s competitiveness and long-term growth.
League officials have hinted at introducing new partnership structures and marketing incentives next season to encourage stability, but for now, attention remains firmly on the battle for the 2025 championship.
As the pool cues are chalked for next weekend, one thing is clear: the road to glory leads straight through Iceland of Joy — where Pahukama’s title dreams will be tested under the fiercest pressure yet.

Pahukama Storm Past Magaffer to Extend Unbeaten Run to 10
In a high-stakes clash of nerves, precision, and passion, Pahukama triumphed 11-7 over BnB Magaffer in Matchday 12 of the Nevsun Premier Pool League, held at the buzzing Mabvuku BnB Magaffer. The away side proved why they’re currently the team to beat, extending their unbeaten streak to 10 matches without several of their key star players.
Despite being without top guns Bhibhibho, Ndundu, and O’Sullivan, who are currently in South Africa, Pahukama showed serious squad depth and tactical brilliance to secure the win.
Pahukama started strongly, taking control early with big wins from Programmer, Mumu, Aviator, Figo, and Mambo. Despite solid resistance from BnB Magaffer stars like Tinashe, Privilege, and Zato, the first nine frames ended in a 5–4 edge for Pahukama.
Second Segment ,Magaffer attempted a comeback, with Zhemi and Tinashe bringing the heat, but Pahukama refused to fold. With precision potting and calculated breaks from Figo, Mambo, Bezel, Bhamu, and Programmer finished strong to seal the match 11–7.
Programmer’s cool-headed victory in the final frame against Israeli was the nail in the coffin, capping off an electric day of snooker.
💬 Post-Match Reaction:
“We knew it would be tough away from home, especially without some of our key players. But the squad stepped up, and this win means a lot,” said Aviator, who impressed with his versatility and grit.
