♟️ NORTH CHESS ACADEMY – MABELREIGN

We are rebuilding something that already worked.
This same structure and approach was developed and proven in Namibia, where it helped shape and mentor many young players, including a 3-time national champion.

Now we are bringing that same vision, same mission, and same standard back home.

Our goal is simple but powerful: To develop disciplined, confident, intelligent, and strategic young people through chess.

This is more than just learning how to play.
It is about:
✔️ Focus
✔️ Decision-making
✔️ Confidence
✔️ Social awareness
✔️ Positive engagement

Let's build an environment where every child has a chance to grow, regardless of background.

👉 Leaving no one behind
👉 Moving with purpose
👉 Building one learner at a time

FIDE Arbiter & National Instructor Michael Dumbura! 🎉
It's great to see him returning to the game after a long absence. His experience and expertise will undoubtedly be an asset to the Zimbabwean chess community.

He served as Zone 7 Chairperson for Namibia Chess Federation for 5 years (2016-2020) and he has trained many primary schools, high schools, universities and organised many chess events across many towns in the northern region of Namibia. He organised the first chess leagues in the northern region of Namibia in 2019 for the Juniors and for the Seniors.

He founded North Chess Academy in 2015 on the belief that anyone, regardless of background, can achieve greatness with dedication, talent, discipline, and commitment. He has empowered young minds through chess, notably mentoring Heskiel Ndahangwapo, who became the current, two-time Namibian National Chess Champion 2023 & 2024. This success story showcases the impact of guidance and support in unlocking potential.

He attained his FIDE National Instructor Title in 2019 in Botswana and his FA title in 2020 under Namibia.

Since 2021, he has been based in Zimbabwe, and it's exciting to see Michael back in action and representing Zimbabwe once again. We wish him all the best in this transition and look forward to his continued contributions to the sport in our Zone 4.5 (SADC Region)!

Frederick Cronje, African Schools U9 Chess Champion! ♟️✨

What a moment for Namibia!
At just 9 years old, Frederick Cronje has done something truly special going undefeated at the 2025 African Schools Individual Chess Championships held in Mombasa, Kenya, with 7 wins and 2 draws out of 9 rounds. 🥇💪

It wasn’t just about the moves on the board, it was about heart, focus, and incredible determination. Frederick played with calm, courage, and a maturity beyond his years, proudly carrying the Namibian flag all the way to the top. 🌍❤️

To say we’re proud is an understatement. Frederick, you’ve inspired a whole nation and shown that age is no limit when passion and discipline come together. The future of Namibian chess is bright because of young stars like you!

👏 Well done, champ!👏
