Our North Chess Academy August Holiday Chess Boot Camp begins in just one week's time!

Parents can choose either of the following two-week programmes:

📅 Option 1 10 August – 21 August

📅 Option 2 24 August – 4 September

Each programme includes: ✅ 10 sessions (Monday to Friday) ✅ 2-hour lessons each day ✅ Daily worksheets ✅ Separate coaching for Beginners and Intermediate players ✅ Practice games every day ✅ Certificate of Participation at the end of the programme

🕙 Morning Group: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

💰 Early Bird: US$50 (until 5 August) Standard Fee: US$60

♟️ North Chess Academy learners gain valuable experience by competing against players of all ages and strengths.

This past Saturday, June 6th, four North Chess Academy juniors participated in the inaugural Zimworx Knights Rapid Chess Tournament held in Harare.

Competing against older and more experienced players is one of the fastest ways for young players to build confidence, improve decision-making, and develop tournament resilience.

We are proud of all four learners for stepping outside their comfort zones and embracing the challenge.

A special thank you to the parents who continue to support their children's chess development and participation in tournaments.

As our numbers continue to grow, we look forward to introducing dedicated junior sections at future events and creating even more opportunities for our academy players to compete and develop.

North Chess Academy is launching Chess Development Micro-Centres in selected areas across Harare.

Our programme combines structured chess coaching, tournament preparation, confidence building, critical thinking, and character development in small group environments.

Led by Michael Dumbura, FIDE National Instructor and FIDE Lead School Instructor (Chess in Education), with coaching experience in Zimbabwe and Namibia since 2015.

Recent success stories include learners who progressed through the North Chess Academy pathway to national and international competition, including the 2023, 2024 and 2025 Namibia National Chess Champion.

What an incredible two weeks it has been at North Chess Academy.

We’ve just wrapped up our Holiday Chess Camp, and I’m truly proud of the growth, energy and enthusiasm shown by all our learners.

From our youngest players taking their first steps in chess, to older learners sharpening their thinking and confidence, this has been a powerful start to our journey.

A big thank you to all the parents and guardians for the support and trust. It means everything.
