*Congratulations to Black Mambas Volleyball Club*

The Harare Volleyball Open Tournament 2026 will be remembered as a historic moment for the Black Mambas Volleyball Club, who achieved the rare feat of winning both the men’s and women’s titles.
From the group stages to the finals, both teams displayed flawless performances, never losing a single match. Your consistency and determination set you apart as true champions.
The Black Mambas boast seasoned and mature players whose composure and skill shone throughout the competition. As a uniformed services team, your discipline and teamwork clearly paid off, reflecting the values that define your identity both on and off the court.
As Ruwa Volleyball Club, we were honored to participate in the same tournament and witness such excellence firsthand. Being crowned champions in both genders in the same competition is no fluke—it is a testament to your hard work, preparation, and leadership. We continue to learn from you, our elders, and celebrate your success with pride.
We wish you all the best in your upcoming fixtures, particularly in the Harare Volleyball League and the Zimbabwe Premier Volleyball League. May your victories continue to inspire the volleyball community across the nation.

Ruwa Volleyball Club Set for Harare Open 2026

The Ruwa Volleyball Club is gearing up for the prestigious Harare Volleyball Open Tournament 2026, set to take place in Mufakose on 11-12 April, Harare. This tournament comes at a crucial time for the team, as they look to bounce back from a disappointing outing at the Mashonaland East Volleyball Open in Marondera, where they were knocked out in the quarterfinals by St. Collins.
Ruwa enters the Harare Open with high expectations, having finished second in the 2025 edition of the same tournament. That strong performance established them as one of the top contenders in Zimbabwean volleyball, and the team is eager to reclaim its momentum.
The Ruwa squad remains largely unchanged from the team that represented Zimbabwe at the Zone 6 Games in South Africa. This consistency could prove vital, as the players already share chemistry and experience on the big stage. However, the club has also injected fresh energy by promoting three promising juniors:
- Valentine Shumba
- Tanaka Mapfunde
- Tavonga Murehwa (Mbudzi)

These additions are expected to bring youthful enthusiasm and depth to the squad.
The Harare Open presents Ruwa with an opportunity to redeem themselves after the setback in Marondera. The team’s resilience and determination will be tested against some of the country’s strongest volleyball clubs. With their blend of seasoned campaigners and rising stars, Ruwa will be aiming not just to match last year’s runner-up finish, but to go one step further and claim the championship.

Ruwa’s journey in the Mashonaland East Volleyball Open has been impressive so far. They secured straight-set victories against Zimra (2–0) and Mintonets (2–0), before falling to NABA (0–2). Despite that setback, their two wins were enough to push them through to the quarterfinals.

At this stage, Ruwa is waiting to find out their next opponent in the knockout rounds. The quarterfinals will be crucial, as every match from here on is elimination — meaning consistency and resilience will matter even more than in the group stage.

# Rising from Polokwane: Our Return to the Local Volleyball Scene

After making our debut at the prestigious **2025 Zone 6 Volleyball Games in Polokwane, South Africa**, our team is back on home soil, ready to reignite the local stage. The next chapter begins at the **Mashonaland East Open Tournament** on **28 March 2026**, hosted at **Marondera High School** in Marondera.
The squad remains largely intact from our South African campaign, with only **Takudzwa Mutanga** absent after joining **CUT Eagles**. Encouragingly, there are **no injuries** in the camp, thanks to the diligent work of our new medic, **Charity Urombo**, who has quickly settled into her role.
On the technical bench, **Head Coach Simbarashe G. Ndebvu (Sir Gr**go)** will once again lead the charge, this time assisted by former club stalwart **Moses Mandeya (Baba Zambezi)**, whose experience and tactical insight promise to add depth to the coaching setup.
The Mash East Open has drawn some of the **biggest names in Zimbabwean volleyball**:
- **UZ Wolves** – Zone 6 defending champions
- **Ruwa Volleyball Club**
- **Old Hararians**

From Mash East, **St Collins Volleyball Club** will be under the spotlight after strengthening their roster with marquee signings such as **Takudzwa Mashaka (formerly Sharks)** and **Big Brain**, both of whom were part of the UZ Wolves squad in Polokwane.
This tournament is more than just a return—it’s a proving ground. Facing seasoned giants like UZ Wolves and ambitious challengers like St Collins will test our resilience, sharpen our competitive edge, and showcase how far we’ve come since our international debut.

The energy is high, the squad is united, and the technical team is fortified. With the lessons from Polokwane still fresh, we step into Marondera not just to participate, but to **make a statement**.
