Today in front of Stephansdom, Bad Bunny’s “Baile Inolvidable” came on and I just started dancing salsa - no training, no plan, definitely not doing it “right.” Strangers started joining in completely on their own.
The fear is never as big as the moment you’re actually in. You don’t need to be good, you just need to move.

Dancing to a piece of bachata history 🇩🇴🖤 “Esa Mujer” by Luis Vargas — one of the tracks from his early catalog that helped shape modern bachata’s sound.

Vargas grew up in Monte Cristi, in the Dominican Republic’s northwestern frontier region, and taught himself guitar as a kidbefore becoming one of the first bachata artists to break into the Latin mainstream.  He’s known as “El Rey Supremo de la Bachata” — he was part of the generation that took bachata from its rural, marginalized roots and pushed it into the modern era, blending in guitar-driven merengue influences from his home region. Songs like this one carry that raw, sobbing-baritone frontier style that changed the genre forever.

For me, this music is impossible to sit still to. Every guitar lick, every bongo hit, every pause in the rhythm — I just want to translate it into movement. That’s the whole joy of bachata: it’s not just a dance, it’s a conversation between your body and the instruments. 💃🕺
