👋 Hi Pua Uei here. See you all at in Copenhagen — looking forward to the meeting and catching up with colleagues. I’ll be sharing on palliative embolization of breast malignancy (Saturday, Sep 5, 2026, 11:30-12:30).

Additionally, delighted to share that the Asia-Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (APSCVIR) 2028 meeting will be hosted in Singapore.

Looking forward to welcoming colleagues to SG for high-quality education, collaboration and friendship. Save the date.

Elderly patient, Rutherford 5 CLTI. Two previous failed pedal angioplasties. Vascular MDT decision: deep venous arterialisation.

Plantar vein access. AVF created between posterior tibial vein and artery. Predilatation and valvular disruption performed, followed by stent-graft from calf to calcaneum. Completion angiogram showed satisfactory result.

A useful option in carefully selected no-option CLTI patients.

Great to have our NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine medical students rotating through our department and learning ultrasound skills hands-on. Early exposure to image-guided techniques is how we grow the next generation of IRs and clinicians.

Patient with aortic arch saccular aneurysm. MDT decision: TEVAR. Aberrant anatomy — left dominant vertebral artery arising directly from the aortic arch.

A custom multi-branch thoracic stent-graft was planned and deployed successfully.

Key teaching points: careful marker alignment of the endograft and precise bridging stent placement are critical in these complex arch cases.

👋 Hi, I’m Edward Ong , Associate Consultant at TTSH IR. Here’s something we’ve been building on the side: 3D-printed tools for MRI-guided intervention.

Polymer 3D printing is ideal for MRI-compatible instrumentation — inexpensive and rapidly iterable.

1. Patient-mounted instrument holder: adhesive stoma-wafer baseplate with quick-release needle clamp and adjustable trajectory. SLA-printed in heat-sterilisable biocompatible resin. Locks trajectory before device introduction.

2. Skin-marker grid: MRI analogue of the classic CT localisation grid. Serpentine printed channels filled with gadolinium appear as hyperintense foci. Three design iterations to reach the final version.

Small tools that make MRI intervention more practical.
