That’s a wrap in Osaka for Katana Baseball Week!!
⚾️🇯🇵

What an unforgettable first event in Asia for the Globetrotters. Players got to experience the culture, lifestyle, and playing baseball in a country with storied baseball history.

Not only that, visiting Katana’s workshop in Okayama! Giving players a behind the scenes look at the detail behind creating a baseball glove.

A huge thank you to Katana for this incredible opportunity. And for a successful first trip to Asia for the ‘trotters! 🌎⚾️

🌏⚾ ROSTER SPOT FILLED X3: Globetrotters x Katana Baseball Week

The BBJO Globetrotters are in Osaka, Japan, October 5-9, for the inaugural Katana Baseball Week. It’s a first-of-its-kind international baseball week, and we’re proud to be part of the opening chapter.

After our first-ever appearance at Honkbal Week in Haarlem 🇳🇱 earlier this summer, Osaka 🇯🇵 is the next big stop on the Globetrotters tour. A new continent, a new test, and the same crew of current and former BBJO players and coaches representing overseas baseball.

Today we’re revealing the last eight names on our 25-man roster!!

He went from undrafted -> plumber -> Germany First League Player/Coach. This is Austin Bull’s story:

Austin Bull was a 4-year starter at Grand Canyon University — then he thought his career was over. No pro contract, no plan B... except one: he became a residential plumber. 🔧

Then he found BBJO. One decision later, he was leading the German Bundesliga in AVG, hits, doubles, runs & stolen bases as the Stuttgart Reds’ leadoff hitter. Now he’s their player-coach. 🇩🇪⚾️

Week 23 Player of the Week Winner: Ryan “RJ” Johnson! 🇨🇦🇨🇿

In the Czech Extraliga Finals, RJ did it with his bat and his arm for Hrosi Brno. Going 5-9 at the plate with a bomb, and pitching six innings with six Punchies.

In a pivotal Game 6, RJ closed the door for fellow POTW 23 candidate and teammate, Matt Malconian. Who threw a 7 inning gem, holding Kotlarka to 1 R with 11 strikeouts. Forcing a Game 7 in Prague tomorrow!

In his first season with Hrosi Brno, RJ is having a career year. And a big reason why his squad is fighting for a Czech Extraliga Championship.

Congratulations and good luck tomorrow, RJ! ⚾️🌎
