The final round of the 2026 Australian Kart Championship at our home track, with everyone fighting hard for final championship points! And the only way to explain it is, you can plan and prepare for AKC, but you canโt predict it.
This weekend had ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐! Red flags ๐ฉ, full course yellows ๐จ, drop downs, penalties and Turn 1 MADNESS.
Ka3 Junior was oversubscribed, so we were split into 2 groups, meaning only the top 40 drivers overall (+ 2 reserves) earning a spot in the final.
Friday practice started strong. Pace and lap times were great, running inside the top 5, but mechanical failure during final practice session prevented testing our last setup changes before qualifying.

๐๐๐๐ โฑ๏ธDefinitely not what we hoped for. Lost pressure from a flat during the session deflated us (get it lol) to P21 in our group and 46/57 overall. Meaning lots of work to do in the heats.
๐๐๐๐ญ ๐โ A great start, picking off positions one by one and pleased with the result. P21 โก๏ธ P13 in group.
๐๐๐๐ญ ๐ โ A full course yellow followed by a red flag meant the race was cut short at lap 5. Lost positions at the start and the unexpected short heat left little time to move forward and with a dropdown we ended up back where we started. P21 โฌ

๐๐๐๐ญ ๐ โ The most heart breaking๐ heat of them all. Turn 1 collision (captured by 7plus) got us and not in a good way. Shunted from behind and pushed up the rear of the kart in front and spun around to collide with two karts behind. Eventually got back out and finish P26 in group.
๐๐๐๐ญ ๐ โ The decider for the final. P21 โก๏ธ P13 on track! Finally got a good race in and made up some great positions, proving what we knew during Friday practice, that we have what it takes. Dropdown penalties pushed us back to P17.

๐๐๐๐ With only 40 spots available, we scraped in at ๐๐๐. Not where we wanted to start, but ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐
๐๐๐๐! A 14 minute + 1 lap race (double the heat times). Got an awesome start, avoided the T1 carnage and started making our way through the field. Unfortunately, after only 6 minutes of racing, ANOTHER full course ๐จ and a ๐ฉ saw the race called early. Finishing the race in P17, with other penalties moving me up to ๐๐๐! ๐คฉ
From P39 to P14 in the final! Definitely pleased with that.
A massive thank you to everyone at Pro Karts Race Centre Racing Team ๐ It was so good having the whole team and their families together this weekend, cheering each other on, helping out and supporting one another through all the highs and lows. Such an awesome team to be part of!
Our SODI kart and Advanced Motorsport engine were faultless all weekend, giving us what we needed to do the job. Just needed a little more luck on our side!
