Bruny Bowls and Community Club

Great progress has been made and we're delighted to say that we are back up and running and open tonight, including meal service!🍽
The long awaited switch over went well and the rewiring of the entire club has brought about an immense improvement in the infrastructure of the premises. 🔌💡
Our sincere gratitude goes to our three electricians, Paulie, Tony and Johno, and thanks also to Paul, Di, Chris and Mick.

Tonight, the inaugural Clubs Tasmania Awards, celebrating local sporting clubs, community groups, and volunteers, took place at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre in Hobart.There were 15 distinct awards spanning Volunteer of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Community Club of the Year (regional and metro tiers).
The focus and purpose of the Awards is to recognise grassroots volunteers, RSL and ex-services organisations, and special-interest groups.
They highlight local contributions to community well-being, social connection, and regional identity.
We are immensely proud and absolutely delighted to announce that our club was awarded the Silver Award in the Community Club of the Year (Regional tier) category. 🎉🎊
Another proud addition to our trophy cabinet and a wonderful acknowledgement of all that we do for our Bruny Island community.

Congratulations to our very own Charlie Harkness, who has been selected in the 2026 Tasmanian Open Women’s Team, which will compete in the Australian Sides Championships at the Osborne Park Bowling Club, WA from 15 – 18 October 2026.
