The Cup Directors with great sadness acknowledge the passing of Rod Bush. Rod was a great contributor to the Country Cup over many years and his legacy will be enduring. The following is the official post from Basketball Victoria.
Basketball Victoria is deeply saddened by the passing of Rod Bush OAM, one of the most respected and influential technical officials in the history of Victorian basketball.
Across more than 60 years of service, Rod helped shape refereeing, technical officiating and country basketball throughout Victoria, while mentoring and inspiring generations of officials, volunteers and basketball leaders.
Recently recognised with a Basketball Victoria 60 Years of Service Award and appointed a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), Rod's contribution to the game and community leaves an enduring legacy.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Rod's wife Patsy, their three daughters Emily, Georgie and Madeline, their families, friends and the wider basketball community.

Congratulations to Scott Pendlebury (from Sale Vic) on breaking the record with 433 VFL/AFL games. It is well documented that Scott's first love was basketball. He is seen here playing in the Country Cup for Vic Country Goldminers as a junior against NSW Country.
