Ardrossan Football Club’s Ben Davey has been named the Country Times Club Person of the Year for 2026, taking out the award for the second consecutive year 💙

Ben has again gone above and beyond for the club, contributing across both junior and senior football. He coached the Under 14s through to the finals and took on the role of Junior Delegate, helping coordinate and support the club’s junior teams.

At senior level, Ben stepped into the A Grade Team Manager role, taking care of team sheets, trophies, player welfare and the weekly job of sorting and washing the guernseys. He also doubled as the A Grade runner. When the club couldn’t find a boundary umpire for one game, Ben simply stepped in himself, showing his commitment to the club.

He has also helped coordinate B Grade game days and regularly lends a hand at the Thursday night BBQ after already putting in the work with the juniors and A Grade. His positive attitude, passion for the club and willingness to volunteer make him an outstanding role model for the younger players and a hugely valued member of the Ardrossan Football Club community.

Join us in celebrating all of our ANC and AFC junior teams!! Thursday the 24th of September, the community club will be open from 5pm for a 5:30pm start.

FOOTBALL MANAGER 💙

Ardrossan Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of BEN PORTER as the Football Manager for season 2027.

Ben comes with immense background knowledge in football, having:

* Played 242 country/amatuer games
* Coached 360 country/amatuer games
* Development managed for South Adelaide & coached Under 19’s
* Assistant coached Under 16’s for North Adelaide Football Club
* SFL chairman of selectors
* Currently West Adelaide reserves bench coach/team manager

We look forward to working closely with Ben in the lead up to next season to build a strong foundation in our playing squad moving forwards!!

Clear the calendars for Sunday the 18th of October as we prepare for season 2027!!

AFC will be looking for the following positions to be filled:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary

As always, we strongly encourage members of the community to generously volunteer their time to be apart of either our netball or football committee. ‘Many hands make light work’ is not just something we preach - but something that when enacted within our community really does make the season run smoother. We look forward to creating dedicated and passionate committees for next year 🤝
