Smoke out at The Piney has cleared & tracks there running awesome as an alternative. Other option is Fat Tyre Farm.

Heads-up. Piney hazard reduction burns are starting this week.

PUBLIC NOTICE – PLANNED HAZARD REDUCTION BURNING

Forestry Corporation of NSW advises that planned hazard reduction burning may be undertaken in Armidale State Forest commencing on Thursday 20th August 2026, subject to suitable weather and operational conditions.

These burns form part of Forestry Corporation’s ongoing bush fire risk management program and are designed to reduce fuel loads, assist in protecting surrounding communities and forest assets, and maintain healthy forest ecosystems.

Residents and visitors may notice smoke in the Armidale district during this period. Smoke may be present both during the day and overnight and may reduce visibility on nearby roads. Motorists are urged to drive to the prevailing conditions.

For public safety, temporary road closures or access restrictions may be implemented while burning operations are underway. Members of the public are requested to comply with all signage and directions from Forestry Corporation staff.

Should weather conditions become unsuitable, burning operations will be postponed until conditions are favourable.

Don't forget, the Almost Spring social ride is on tomorrow, departing the Armidale Tourist Info Centre carpark at 9.30am sharp.

All are welcome to join us for a relaxed ride, covering a distance of ~40km with an optional coffee stop at the half-way mark...

The Almost Spring social ride is happening this weekend on Sunday, 16th August.

Riders should meet at Armidale Tourist Info Centre carpark to start riding at 9.30am sharp, covering a distance of ~40km. There will be a break for an optional coffee or your preferred refreshment at the half-way mark.

NEMTB General Committee Meeting will be held this coming Thursday 13 August at the Armidale City Bowling Club, starting at 6am.

All members are welcome to join us for a meal and discuss planning for upcoming events.
