Totoka Lightning was my first runner at Burrumbeet as a ballarat based trainer, in 2019 She was back from a Tendon injury and was a more middle distance horse.
Knock of beers same circumstances, back from tendon injury also more staying type, wins exactly the same race in 2026.
The mares both carried number 5 too.

We Finished 2025 on a d*%k of a note but have kicked off 2026 in style ....

over the line.

The spicey red mare ticked off her maiden race in style finishing the strongest over 1350m at Burrumbeet.
10/10 ride from Craig who was patient and strong to finish.
Craig and this girl just click! He's far more tolerant than me 😂

Tomorrow, our team will contest our most significant race to date. Western Legend will compete against a talented field of three-year-olds in the Whispering Angel Melbourne Classic over 2000m at Caulfield. Are we sufficiently prepared to participate at this level? Time will tell. Do we merit an opportunity to challenge for the title? Undoubtedly. We extend our best wishes to our loyal owners and hope Western Legend completes the race safely.
