BEN RIVETT ✅
Hard-nosed, selfless and team first. Riv loves a one-on-one… his opponent, not so much! 💪

Injury restricted him to just six games in 2026, so we can’t wait to see what a clean run and full pre-season brings in 2027.

FLOYD BROOKS ✍️ NEW SIGNING ✅
Basketballer turned footballer — and Floyd is giving footy a red-hot crack!

Only a handful of games into his career, his ruck craft, physical presence and potential have already caught the eye. He’s fitted seamlessly into the group and is rarely seen without a footy in his hands!

DEACON TOWK ✅
A much-loved character, club favourite and genuine Lakers man.

Team first, great footy IQ and able to impact at either end. We saw that when he went forward in the final quarter of our last game and produced two goals and a goal assist!

A big pre-season ahead for Deacon and we’re excited to see what 2027 brings.

Well done to our Lakers boys Jacko, Archie & Hamish, who wrapped up their year with the GWV Rebels on Sunday.
The Club is incredibly proud of the commitment and effort you’ve put in throughout the season. Congratulations on a fantastic year and another important step in your football journeys.
A big well done also to Harley, Walshy & Bok, who were part of the extended Rebels squad this season. Another great achievement and valuable experience for these young Lakers.
There is plenty of exciting footy ahead for all six of you, and we look forward to watching you continue to develop, challenge yourselves and see where your football takes you.

BACK-TO-BACK BROTHER ACTS AT LAKERLAND!

Hot on the heels of the Canny brothers signing on for 2027, we’re keeping it in the family with Liam & Dylan Holmes both committing to the Lakers!

They say we’re a family club… and we’re taking that pretty literally at the moment! 😜

LIAM “HOMER” HOLMES – RE-SIGNED 2027

We are incredibly grateful to have Homer back on board, both for what he brings on the field and everything he has given the club off it.

Liam did a mountain of work in 2026 as Head Coach of our Under 18.5s, playing a huge role in the development of our young Lakers coming through.

Now he’s ready to put the coaching hat aside and really focus on his own footy.

After breaking into the Senior side around a quarter of the way through 2026, Homer didn’t look back. His footy brain and IQ are one of his biggest strengths — his ability to read the game, understand what’s happening around him and make smart decisions is elite. It’s easy to see why he was such a natural fit in the coaching space.

He’s selfless, tough, team-first and really grew into his role as the season went on, particularly with his defensive craft and skills.

With another year of confidence under his belt, we’re excited to see what Homer can produce in 2027.

DYLAN HOLMES – NEW SIGNING 2027

And just when we thought one Holmes was enough… along comes the *better-looking brother!* 😂

Dylan is officially a Laker for 2027 and has committed to travelling from Geelong to be part of our club full-time — a massive show of faith in our football program and where we’re heading.

A genuine Mr Fix-It Dylan is a versatile footballer who can play across all three lines. He loves the contest, isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and, by all reports, doesn’t mind a bit of push and shove either!

There’s plenty of potential there and we’re looking forward to seeing exactly what he can bring to Lakerland.

FINALS WEEK 2 ⚓️

Another great weekend of finals! Our Under 19s have solidified their spot in the Grand Final! Congratulations, girls.
Our A Grade fought it out in a tough game but have secured their spot in the Preliminary Final!
E Grade put up a great fight, but unfortunately couldn’t get the win this time. We’re so proud of the effort and determination shown all season.
Our C Grade had a great win also securing their spot in the Preliminary Final this Saturday! 💙💚💛

💙💚💛 **THE CANNY BROTHERS SIGN ON FOR 2027!** 💙💚💛

Two blokes who **bleed blue, green & gold** — loyal, spirited and passionate Lakers, and aren’t we better for having them both on and off the field.

**SAM CANNY**
A Laker through and through and a much-loved member of our club. Sam played both senior and reserves football this season and is always a threat up forward with his footy smarts and craft. A beautiful field kick and reliable set shot, he has plenty to offer.

Sam has also continued to grow as a leader around the club, and with a big pre-pre-season and pre-season ahead, we’re looking forward to seeing him take another step in 2027.

**JOSH CANNY**
The ultimate swingman — versatile, selfless and always prepared to play whatever role the team needs. Josh embodies what brotherhood and being a great teammate is all about.

He took his game to another level this year, playing consistent senior football. Fit, fast and willing to take the game on, Josh drives his legs, gets us moving forward and, when called upon defensively, will always compete and give everything he has.

With a big pre-season, we think Josh can really make that wing position his own in 2027.

And quite possibly **the nicest bloke in Australia!**

💙💚💛 **THE YOUNG GUNS ARE BACK FOR 2027!** 💙💚💛

We’re excited to announce that **Felix & Billy “Bok” have re-committed to the Lakers for Season 2027!**

We’re grateful that both boys chose Lake Wendouree FNC as their home club after decorated junior careers at Mt Clear. We also thank Mt Clear for providing them with a great junior pathway that has helped develop them into the players and young men they are today.

**BILLY “BOK”**
A wise head on young shoulders, Bok fitted seamlessly into the club and played every senior game this season. Used as a swingman down back or forward, he’s a strong mark, loves the contest and has a real appetite to improve. His development also continues as part of the **GWV Rebels program**.

**FELIX**
Class on and off the field, Felix has also made a big impact at Lakerland. He dominated in the Under 18.5s, regularly hitting the scoreboard with his pace and craft, before earning his senior opportunities. Playing wing and half-forward, his ability to work up and down the ground all day was impressive.

Both boys gained invaluable senior experience this season and will only be better for it.

**Two exciting young Lakers with plenty of upside — definitely ones to watch in 2027!** 👀

We’re happy to announce that Noah & Paddy have both re-committed for Season 2027!

Noah has really stepped up as a leader throughout 2026, and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue to grow and mature both on and off the field next season.

And Paddy… well, we’re expecting him to reach “new heights” again in 2027! 😏😂

Two more Lakers locked in and ready to pull on the blue, green & gold again next year.
