Belgrave FC - Futsal Club

A little behind in the editing to say the least....try half a season. But here's Rd 12 - the final round of last season vs Melb FC. The season was already determined at this stage, with Belgrave taking out title for the second consecutive time. BUT, our untarnished winning streak was on the line. We were able to hold Melbourne scoreless (through some great defensive and GK work, and some unlucky near misses for Melb), with the final score finishing at 6-0 to Belgrave. Not the highest paced game of the season, but a decent hit out nonetheless.

Round 10 against Le Futsal firsts was set to be a highly competitive one, and it didn't disappoint!
Le Futsal got an early lead, but Belgrave clawed it back to a 2-1 lead at halftime. A late equaliser from Le Futsal made for a nail biting finish, with excellent chances from both sides in the final minutes. An excellent game from both GKs as well. Enjoy!

Round 9 highlights. It was a fast-paced game, with a lot of chances at each end. The score remained fairly low, and finished up at 4-1. Enjoy

Rd 6 versus Goal Hub was a physical one, with some hefty challenges flying in both ways. Despite this, the match was played in good spirits, with some quality moments for the highlights. Goal hub scored first with a classy volley, but Belgrave levelled soon after, then ran away with the game to make it 13-2 as the final score. Note, about 10 minutes of footage did not get captured, as Belgrave's chief and Team Manager Vera, was distracted worried about Orien who had destroyed his ankle in the first half...Enjoy the highlights

Round 5 against the very technical side, Coast Borneo Futsal. After many early chances each way, Belgrave took a convincing lead through Steve, and the goals continued to fly. There were quite a few fouls, which reflected the intensity on the ball from both teams. Belgrave ran away with the match in the end, which finished at 10-1. Enjoy the highlights :)

Rd 4 was set to be a good hit out against a strong GEMs side, and that's exactly what we got. It was a high-pressure, physical game, with both GKs called into action on numerous occasions. Belgrave inched ahead through some composed finishes by Scotty and Kizza, then the game appeared to be determined once Reuben scored a sneaky long-range goal to make it 3-0. The game finishes at 3-1 thanks to an excellent OG finish by Belgrave legend, Grecea. A solid game all round, enjoy!

Round 3 was destined to be a big clash against a perennially strong, Melb FC. They pressed us hard and Cam had to be alert in goal to keep out their quick breaks. Melbourne eventually got the breakthrough, but we persisted and clawed back 3 late goals to take the points. Enjoy the highlights!

Round one of the new season kicked off last week, and unfortunately Montrose had to forfeit. We welcome Reuben and Ali to Belgrave FC - we're very excited for the season ahead! Well, this is what the MEPL season all came down to...the final, between us and Le Futsal Club (Firsts). They had beaten us not too many rounds ago, so we knew it was going to be a contest. But our boys came out firing, and weathered the early pressure to put away a couple of goals within the first 10 mins or so. We were wary, since Le Futsal had come back from a couple of goals down to win last time. But the Belgrave boys were playing very convincingly and didn't take the foot off the pedal. The scores blew out in the last 10 mins of the game, with Belgrave hitting the huge total of 9 goals - all quality. Despite some good chances, Le Futsal couldn't squeeze one past the rock Cam in the Belgrave goal, so the score finished 9-0. Enjoy the highlights, and catch you next season!
