Merbein Golf Club – Catch-Up Wrap-Up
First off, huge apologies for being a bit slack on the updates lately, crew! We’ve got a massive, action-packed wrap-up to get everyone caught up on the action.
Things kicked off on Wednesday, 19 August, with J. Piper grinding out a solid win on 33 points to edge out Maxy Trinick on a countback. Maxy didn't have to wait long to get his revenge, though—he backed it up the following Wednesday, 26 August, taking top spot on the podium with a sharp 34-point round!
Saturday, 29 August, saw Robert Price put on an absolute masterclass, firing a blistering 42 points to claim top honors over a super-consistent Phil Williams (40 pts). Meanwhile, Chase Faux had a day to forget, grinding his way to the prestigious NAGA award!
Moving into September, Wednesday the 2nd was all about the Price household again. Tori Price put on a clinic, dropping a huge 40-point round to take the win, with father Robert picking up a ball on 37 points. Meanwhile, Jim Piper found himself on the opposite end of the spectrum, taking home the NAGA just two weeks after his midweek victory—proof that golf always finds a way to humble you!
Saturday, 5 September, brought the highly anticipated Monthly Medal (Stroke), and Chase Faux delivered under pressure. Playing in absolute howling conditions, Chase battled through a gale-force wind to fire a phenomenal 76/71 nett, taking out the Medal and the Drummond Golf voucher in style. On the ladies' side, Keryn Neindorf put in a brilliant shift, carding a 101/80 nett to take out the Female Winner title and doubling up with a pinpoint shot on the 3rd hole to claim an NTP. At the other end of the leaderboard, Jamie Judd suffered through the conditions to claim the NAGA—we'll just blame the wind for that one, Jamie!
A big shoutout as well to everyone who took part in our recent back-to-back Opens!
