In Loving Memory of Daniel “Dougie” Hawkins

On behalf of the the Hawkins family please see below funeral arrangements for Wednesday 19th of August.

TANK MARTIN DAY – PAST PLAYERS 2026

We are extending an invitation to the entire SEQ Football community to come down, share in storytelling, raising a glass and celebrating Daniel” Dougie” Hawkins this Saturday as part of our Tank martin/Past players day.

The club will be having a memorial at 1.45pm prior to a minute silence with Seniors kicking off at 2pm.

The club will be providing donation buckets, 50% of bar sales and game day raffle with everything raised going to The Hawkins family.

MASSIVE THANK YOU TO BURLEIGH!

We would like to extend a massive thank you to the Burleigh Bombers Australian Rules Football Club

Not only for the care and support they have shown over the past week helping to organise the pregame memorial of Daniel Hawkins this past Saturday but the increditable generosity of the club and their players.

Burleigh have donated their Senior club awards for the past weekend as well as 2k of their 5k reserve raffle to the Hawkins Family. A group of Burleigh players known as the Rat Pack have also donated another 2K to support the Hawkins Family.

A beautiful gesture from our biggest rival in this competition, showing the strength of the bonds within our football community.

The Coolangatta Football Club are devastated at the news of the passing of Club Legend Daniel Hawkins. Dougie, as he was affectionately known was the ultimate clubman. He was a part of the club over a period of 20 years through good times and bad. Ferocious as a player, a gentle soul off the field, Dougie was loved by everyone who met him. He achieved everything there is to achieve during his stellar footy career and wore the Coolangatta #39 jersey with pride. He was a
Premiership Player for the club in 2003 & 2022, played 300+ games, a Life Member of the club and was officially recognised as a Club Legend. The Club retired his #39 jersey in 2023 after he finished playing at the club- the ultimate mark of respect. He was genuinely loved by all. We will miss you Dougie. Our love and thoughts go out to his lovely wife Tamarra and their four gorgeous kids. Please support this young family with the Go Fund Me page that has been set up.
