Let's go back in time! Zoo York Act Two - Where the zoo finally found its ROAARRR

The nerves had settled, the costumes were still sparkling, and our dancers were deep in character. We saw our dancers leap, prowl, shimmy, stomp, sparkle and shine, each person bringing their own little bit of magic to the stage. Some moments were bold and confident, some were sweet and gentle, and some were wonderfully wild in the best possible way.

So, grab some popcorn 🍿 and sit back as we take you back to 2022 for another roar-some trip to Zoo York 🐅

The Lessons your child takes home

To the mum who is running a business, answering messages between school pick up and dinner, managing staff, clients, invoices, meetings, family calendars and the never ending mental load - we see you 💜

From the outside dance can sometimes look like just another activity. Another weekly booking. Another uniform. Another fee. Another reminder in the diary: "Mum, where are my tights?"" moment right when you are trying to get out the door.

By the end of Term, something shifts. You start to notice that dance has been doing the quiet work in the background.

Dance teaches your child how to show up. So as we get closer to the end of term, take a moment to look beyond the steps.

💖Notice the child who now walks into class with less hesitation
💖Notice the choreography they remember
💖Notice the stronger posture
💖Notice the improved listening skills
💖Notice the new friendship.
💖Notice the way they keep trying when something is tricky
💖Notice the bigger smile after class
💖Notice the calmer nerves
💖Notice the pride in their voice when they tell you what they learnt.

These are not small things. These are signs of real growth

Dance is not only teaching your child how to move. It is helping them learn how to grow.

To the busy mums who arrive right on time or slightly breathless, who cheer from the car, reply to work messages in the waiting area, and still make space for their child's growth - please know this:

Your commitment matters. You are giving your child more than dance lessons. You are giving them a place to belong, to be brave and to discover what they are capable of.

What progress have you noticed in your dancer this term? Tell us below. We would love to celebrate with you! 🫶

✨ Eisteddfod Season Wrap-Up ✨

And just like that, eisteddfod season has come to an end. What a few months it has been for our incredible Torsion group!

From the first rehearsals to the final bows, this season has been filled with hard work, early starts, costume changes, nerves, laughter, road trips, team spirit and so many proud moments. We have watched our dancers step onto each stage with courage, commitment and heart — not just performing routines, but telling stories, supporting one another and representing CBS with so much pride.

To every Torsion dancer: well done. Every rehearsal you showed up to, every correction you worked on, every time you pushed through tired legs or pre-stage butterflies — it mattered. Your growth this season has been beautiful to see, and we are so proud of the way you gave your all, encouraged your teammates and trusted the work you had put in.

A huge thank you also to our families — for the driving, packing, hair, makeup, cheering, washing, organising, and all the behind-the-scenes support that helps our dancers do what they love. Eisteddfod season truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for ours. 💛

These past few months have reminded us exactly what makes Torsion so special: teamwork, determination, friendship, resilience and the joy of performing together. The medals, results and feedback are wonderful, but the real win is watching our dancers grow in confidence, carry themselves with pride and walk away knowing they gave it everything.

So here’s to the sparkly costumes, the backstage pep talks, the big smiles, the tired feet, the group hugs and all the memories made along the way. Torsion, you have done CBS proud, and we could not be more thankful for the energy, passion and heart you brought to this season.

Enjoy a well-earned rest, keep that fire in your hearts, and get ready… because we already cannot wait to see what you bring to the stage next season. ✨💛

✨Good times: Behind-the-Scenes at Eisteddfods ✨

We love watching our CBS family head off for an eisteddfod weekend. There is always a mix of excitement and organised chaos. These trips might be to Forbes, Orange, Bathurst or anywhere the season takes us.

Behind-the-scenes at eisteddfods are full of little stories. Dancers carry costumes and snacks in one hand while holding their mobile in the other. There are last-minute warm-ups, hair checks, breathing exercises and chants of encouragement. warming up,

And then there are the car trips home. Sometimes they are full of chatter, medals and score sheets. Sometimes they are quiet, with tired dancers curled up in the back seat, still wearing a little sparkle in their hair. Either way those drives home are part of the journey too. They remind us that dance is not only about results. It is about courage, commitment, connection and showing up for something you love.

Travelling to other towns for eisteddfods gives our dancers more than a chance to perform. It helps them experience the wider dance community, cheer for dancers from other studios, learn from watching others and understand that every stage is an opportunity to grow. They learn how to manage nerves in new places, support their teammates backstage, celebrate effort and be proud of themselves no matter the outcome.

For us the best part is seeing our CBS community travel together. The familiar faces in unfamiliar venues. The cheers from the audience when our dancers walk on stage. The waves across the auditorium. The messages after performances. The shared pride. The way everyone quietly becomes part of each other's moment. 💜

A little Nervous before class? Totally normal

Sometimes those butterflies show up before your child even gets out of the car—the quiet drive through Cowra, the tight grip on the dance bag, the little “What if I don’t know what to do?” from the back seat. 💜

As parents, it can be hard to watch. But nerves don’t always mean something is wrong. Often, they mean your child cares!

Starting dance, walking into a group, learning new steps, meeting new people, or being seen by familiar Cowra faces can feel big for little hearts. And that’s okay. 🌸

At CBS, we don’t expect children to arrive feeling perfectly confident. We help them build confidence gently — one class at a time.

✨ Sometimes bravery looks like joining in straight away.
✨ Sometimes it looks like watching for a few minutes.
✨ Sometimes it looks like trying one little step and coming back again next week.

Those butterflies? They might just be the beginning of confidence growing. 🌟

If your dancer feels nervous before class, we understand — and we’re here to support them.

Happy Father's Day, blokes. What a week to lead into it. 💙💜

That's a wrap on Bring a Bloke Week — and what a week it was.

We had dads, uncles, brothers, pops and even a few brave boyfriends swap the sidelines for the studio floor this week. Some came in confident. Some came in nervous. All of them came in, and that's the bit that matters.

There were pliés attempted. There were arms going the wrong way. There was at least one bloke who turned out to be a genuinely excellent dancer and has some explaining to do.

But mostly? There were giggles. So many giggles.

Because here's what we love about this week: our dancers spend all year in here, learning, working, growing — and for one week, they get to be the teacher. They get to show their favourite people what they do. And you should see their faces when their bloke gives it a go. Absolutely glowing.

To every bloke who walked through our doors this week — thank you. You made someone's whole week. Probably their whole term.

And today, on Father's Day, we want to say it properly: thank you for the drop-offs and the pick-ups. The waiting in the car. The concert tickets and the flowers and the "you were amazing" every single time, even when they know they wobbled.

You are their biggest fans. This week they got to be yours.

Happy Father's Day, Cowra blokes. What happens in class stays in class — but we've got photos. 📸

💜 CBS

P.S. — Some of you were suspiciously good in the studio. Keep an eye on your inbox. We might have a proposition for you. 👀

Looking for a Fun Activity?

Every week, my living room used to transform into a mini stadium of chaos, driven by a busy toddler imagination that never rested! 💜 I needed a fun activity to channel all that beautiful erratic energy into something meaningful, which is when we discovered Wiggles World of Dance (ages 1-4) at CBS.

As a parent, I initially wondered: Is this only about dancing? Not at all!

From our very first class, my first time dancer stepped into a world packed with music, movement and confidence - building fun. While we love the music, the real magic is the early learning happening alongside the play. In just a short time, I've seen incredible growth as my little one practises:

💖 Listening and following directions
💖 Taking turns and socialising with peers
💖 Building balance, coordination and body awareness
💖 Exploring imagination and self expression.

Created in partnership with The Wiggles, it truly is the perfect step into dance and early learning.

✨ CBS - Not just a Dance Studio ✨

At CBS, we are so much more than just a dance studio - we are a family 💜

Tucked away in our beautiful country town about 314km from Sydney, Cowra is where our roots are and community is at the heart of everything we do. We don't just share a love for dance; we share our lives, celebrate each other's wins and lift one another up through every milestone.

Watching your child grow technically and personally, from taking their very first steps in the studio to mastering complex routines, is our greatest joy. The bonds formed on the dance floor are built to last a lifetime.

We put together a little something small to celebrate the wonderful community we have.
