Let’s Talk - Local Loops - Saturday Standard Loop

Have you joined our Saturday CCW Peloton yet?

This is our Saturday loop we have been running forever before we start work on a Saturday.

It has a warm up, a bit of a climb and a cracking descent and an absolute feature on our CCW Peloton shop ride calendar. A real CCW group favourite.
The thing about this ride is you can make it as hard or easy as you like, and still remain part of the group.

It's a 38km loop with about 500vm of total climbing. It has a 6km climb at approx 5%, a rolling, rollicking ridgeline ride before a long descent. So something for the climbers, something for the ‘rouleurs’ and something for the divebombers.

Rolling out from the shop we make for The Basin on both Mt. Dandenong & Colchester Roads, before we reach the aptly named ‘Mountain Highway’. It's about 10 km to get to the base of our climb for the day. One of, if not the, most climbed 6km roads in Australia - the 1:20.

The 1:20 is not a steep climb and one you can set a nice tempo on. Our groups will knock this over anywhere between 18mins to 28mins. No fear someone will be with you if you are at the back of the group. A regroup in Sassafras, before clipping in again to head for Olinda.

Olinda marks the start of our downhill sectors. A short downhill brings you to the town of Mt.Dandenong. From here to Kalorama, the road is up, down, left and right as you rocket along the Dandenongs Ridgeline. When we hit Kalorama, head down and backside up cos we are descending to Montrose.

Montrose we regroup, before we return to Croydon and have a coffee at Littorio’s Cafe.

What a great way to kick off your Saturday.

A big weekend of riding for everyone who tackled Around the Bay. Great conditions but depending which ride you did, a dirty headwind home!

It’s Gravelista race week. This is a great UCI Gravel World Championships qualifier in and around Seymour. Good luck to all but especially some of our CCW athletes.

CCW Friday Pick Up Series - Amelie S

Hi all and allow us to introduce you to Amelie, and her brand new Cervelo Soloist.

Amelie’s dad Simon, has been a great mate of our store for a little while now. He has been a Saturday CCW Peloton ambassador and regular on many of our rides.However enough about Simon!

Amelie is an aspiring young triathlete and was recently announced in the Victorian Triathlon State Pathway programme. This is the talent development programme for our next crop of triathletes to represent Victoria.

Cerevlo Soloist is a fantastic all-rounder. Being Cervelo, it is reasonably aero, climbs well, descends well and holds great momentum on the flat. Amelie will love it.
