NOMINATIONS | 31 OCTOBER

Men’s Mental Health Night will be held this Saturday at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway kicking off at 4:15pm.

The event features a very cool line up of divisions including Sprintcars (Queensland Speedway Spares Ultimate Sprintcar Championship R6), Late Models (Rudd’s Towing Allstar Series R2), Wingless (PHVR Series R2) and Speedcars.

Sadly another rain out so onto the next one.

🌧️🏁 MOTHER NATURE HAS WON THE BATTLE THIS TIME! 🏁🌧️

Well, we gave it our best shot, but unfortunately Mother Nature has other plans! 😢

It is with great disappointment that we have made the difficult decision to CANCEL this Saturday night's racing, 24th October, at Bundaberg Powersports Carina Speedway.

Our team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes preparing the track and facilities, but unfortunately the weather has beaten us this time.

💔 We know how much everyone was looking forward to a fantastic night of racing, and believe us, we're just as disappointed as you are!

❤️ A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers, sponsors, drivers, crews and supporters for all the hard work, preparation and excitement leading up to this weekend. Your efforts certainly don't go unnoticed, and we appreciate each and every one of you.

🏁 Mother Nature might have won this round, but she hasn't won the championship! 😉

We'll be back, ready to make some noise and throw some dirt!

EVENT CANCELLATION – SATURDAY NIGHT

Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway regrets to announce that Saturday night’s Men’s Mental Health Night featuring round 5 of the Queensland Speedway Spares Ultimate Sprintcar Championship has been cancelled due to an unfavourable weather forecast.

The early decision has been made in the best interests of everyone involved.

We thank our fans, teams and supporters for their understanding and look forward to welcoming everyone back on 31 October which will now be Men’s Mental Health featuring the following divisions:

31 October:
✅ Sprintcars (QSS Ultimate Sprintcar Championship R6)
✅ Late Models (Rudd’s Towing Allstar Series R2)

✅ Wingless Sprints

All pre-purchased tickets for 17 October will be automatically refunded.

Aussie River Country series points after 2 rounds

Maryborough turned it on with a fast and challenging track that produced some awesome racing. We had a practice night friday with myself shaking the car down before throwing Kurtis Peall in the car for a skid and he took to it like a duck to water. Hopefully we can get him back in the seat for laps again soon.

Saturday night started with a decent 7th in qualifying which got us in the invert for the heats. A 2nd in the first heat helped with points as in the next heat I went from 4th to 6th in a fairly average showing.

We ended up 8th on points just squeezing us into the Bronze shootout. After doing a donut in front of the crowd I scrapped through to make it into the Silver shootout. I finally pulled my finger out and went quick time to move into the Gold shootout. The momentum continued and we got to 2nd putting us out outside the front row in the feature.

The feature started fast and furious and in the chaos a plug lead got knocked off and from that time on we went backwards fast. Thankfully we held onto 7th after a great battle with AJ.

Wow what a wild weekend. After the long drive from Darwin the RWR team lined up at McCosker Gladstone Speedway for the first round of the Aussie River Turf 360 LS Sprintcar Country Series 26 27.

We started with a 5th in Qualifying that got us in the invert. We then got a 5th and 3rd in the heats which got in the Silver shootout. We then started 4th in the feature and made a few small mistakes which bumped me back to 6th.

The next night we found ourselves in my home town of Bundaberg and the newly purchased Bundaberg Powersports Carina Speedway. The new team have made some great improvements already and have a lot more in the works which is awesome to see and I can’t wait to come back.

After a qualifying I’d prefer to forget we were buried and had a lot of work to do in the heats. After starting at the back we moved up to 5th in the first heat. And we got to start off pole in the second heat and we skipped away to a good lead and my first ever heat win in a sprintcar.

This put us out of 3rd for the feature and after an average start I settled into 4th and that’s where we finished.

It was a great result for the small amount of racing I’ve done in this car and it was even better getting to do it in front of my family and having them come down to the pits to check out the car and get some pics.

Thank you to the QLD club for being so welcoming and to the tracks for being so accommodating.

As always this wouldn’t happen with our amazing supporters that help get us up and down the road especially at the moment.
