Footy for fun that’s what the gisborne masters is all about. The level of participation is totally up to the individual. The club gathers all year round.

The Gisborne Masters Football Club caters to individuals in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s who are looking for fun, fitness and friendship. We are an Australian Rules Football club, which encourages participation in the great game on many levels, whether that be socially, or more actively through training or playing a game. The club has now been running for 30 years, and is a member of the Victorian Country Masters Australian Football League. The Gisborne Masters Football Club is known as a club which embraces the Masters Football philosophy, "Football for Fun". The club gathers at Sankey Reserve, Gisborne every Wednesday at 6:30pm. For those feeling energetic, there is training for around 90 minutes. Training is followed by a BBQ tea, with refreshments available from the licensed Bulldogs bar. In addition to the Wednesday gatherings, the club holds many functions throughout the year for attendence by our Bulldogs families. During the regular season home and away games are played fortnightly. Games are played with modified rules, to lower the risk of injury and minimise the aches and pains.

🔵🔴⚫ VALE JASON SONNEMAN ⚫🔴🔵

It is with great sadness that Gisborne Masters shares the passing of our much-loved teammate, clubman and friend, Jason Sonneman.

Following a long and courageous battle with kidney cancer, Jase passed away peacefully at Kyneton Hospital.

Jase was an exemplary clubman who gave so much to Gisborne Masters over many years, both as a player and an umpire. His commitment to the club, his willingness to contribute and his love of the game made him a valued and respected member of our Masters family.

People like Jase are what make our club so special. His contribution went well beyond what happened on the footy field, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of sharing the field and being part of the club with him.

In keeping with Jase's wishes, a private cremation will be held in place of a funeral service.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Jase's family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him.

Rest easy, Jase. Thank you for everything you gave to our club. You will always be part of the Gisborne Masters family. 💙❤️🖤

Happy birthday, Squeakr! 🎉🍻

Our Vice President, long-time sponsor and a great clubman who gives plenty to Gisborne Masters, both on and off the field.

Always good for a cracking story and happiest with a fishing rod in hand — we’re sure a few of those stories involve a fish that gets bigger every time he tells it! 🎣

On the field, he’s handy just about anywhere, but really shines up forward with his speed and ability to win the ground ball. Never afraid to put his head over it and go in for a hard get, he’s always ready to do his bit for the team.

Thanks for your ongoing support and everything you do around the club, mate. Hope you have a ripper birthday, a cold b**r and a chance to wet a line! 🔴⚫

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATTO! 🎂🔴⚪⚫

A big happy birthday to Patto from everyone at Gisborne Masters! 🏉

We've managed to dig up a rare photo of Patto actually in action this season - no small feat given his year has been littered with broken bones and injuries! 😂

🥈 Runner-up in the Best & Fairest, but the undisputed winner of Most Injuries and Most Stubborn Player this season! 🏆

Apparently, nobody told Patto that season-ending injuries are actually supposed to end your season! 😂

A fantastic effort to finish runner-up in the Best & Fairest despite everything his body threw at him.

Hope you have a ripper birthday, mate! Here's to fewer broken bones and just as much determination next season! 🍻🎉

Happy Birthday, Patto! 🔴⚪⚫
