🔦 Community Spotlight on the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club Inc for recently winning the Australian Sailing - SA Small Club of the Year Award for 2026. 👏🏽

Club Volunteers Coordinator Chris Chatburn received an individual award, and SheSails convenor Louise Edwards was also acknowledged for raising the Club’s women’s program to a new level.

According to the judges at Australian Sailing SA, Goolwa Regatta Club achieved significant membership growth in 2025/26, supported by Discover Sailing, SheSails, Sailability, Youth Teams Sailing and school partnerships.

The Club offered a strong year-round sailing and social program that supported participation and retention. The Club also raised its profile and generated income by hosting major State, National and Interdominion events.

Outgoing Commodore Brian Partridge attributed his Club’s growth to a policy of inclusion and community support.

The Club is extending an open invitation to the community to attend their season opening day on Saturday 10 October. A highlight will be the annual decorated boat sailpast at 3.30pm.

Congratulations again to the Goolwa Regatta Club for winning the Club of the Year (Category B) at the 2026 South Australian Sailing Awards. 👏🏽

Congratulations Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club Inc 🎉

GRYC achieved significant membership growth in 2025–26, supported by Discover Sailing, SheSails, Sailability, Youth Teams Sailing and school partnerships. The Crew Bank also helped new sailors get involved.
A strong year-round sailing and social program supported participation and retention. GRYC hosted major State, National and Interdominion events, raising the club’s profile, attracting junior sailors and generating income for facility improvements. Promotion through local media and social media further strengthened community awareness.

Another great weekend on the water for the annual Women's Weekend Coaching Clinic. This year we had 27 registrations and 8 boats; our largest number yet. Commodore Robbie Robinson certainly has his ducks in a row! Flexing his leadership skills on the main street today, Robbie, assisted by a good Samaritan from the Council, parted traffic to allow this wee family to cross Cadell St safely. Not all heroes wear capes 👏👏
